As an alum, class of 1958, this has many mesmerizing moments. I even spied my favorite chair to sit in as I studied in the library. I would not have imagined I would see it again some 65 years later. Thank you for screening!

I graduated in 1972. Intense, intense memories via this film. A story that is all so very true. If you love urbanity, go to Harvard, Penn, Columbia, or even Penn. But if you crave the out-of-doors, a small student body (only about 3000 when I was there), a more northerly clime, and academics bar none, then Hanover may be for you. It was for me. BTW, it is L-ee-a-zar/zah (the latter if from New England) Wheelock. PS The quarter system is intense. Learning and due dates at a very rapid pace. But but....my three terms of freshman year French were considered the equivalent of four semesters of language elsewhere. (After that year, I was recruited to major in French. I chose Geography instead. I still wonder what would life have been if French had been my future.....)

This is one of the best college tour videos around!! Rusty you should really do more of these. Very professionally done. Great info and insight. Very helpful for seeing colleges for our high school junior.

Glad you liked the video. Wish I could do more but lost money doing this one so it is unlikely.

Excellent work! I wish other online college tours were this detailed, but most that are available on this site are pretty shallow. You really get a vivid sense of location, atmosphere, history, and culture through this video.

Thanks. I try to be as detailed as I can with everything I do. I hope to do more college videos in the future but not sure it will be possible.

Four decades ago, I applied to Dartmouth as a transfer student , however at that time, they were not accepting transfer students. I have never visited the campus, but still long to do so.

True. I grew up in Grafton New Hampshire which is like 20 miles more east. Hanover isn't a city, it's a village. Nowhere in New Hampshire is that big. Live Freeze then die

I-89 and I-91 have much, much reduced the isolation. I-89 was not even finished until after I graduated. Plus, Dartmouth is not like a UNH or Michigan State where the campuses empty due to kids going home for weekends. Hanover is its own little world. The isolation is not even noticed by most students, rather northern NH is their attraction. This is a major reason why DC is, in so many ways, the most unique Ivy school.
