Dartmouth College: The pros, the cons, and how to get in.

*UPDATE* In February 2024, Dartmouth announced that it would once again require all freshman applicants to submit either their SAT or ACT score starting in Fall 2024.
The best way to get into a highly-selective college like Dartmouth is to understand what makes that university unique -- academically, culturally, socially -- and then to tailor your application so it seems like it's the "perfect match" for your past accomplishments and future goals. Top universities aren't just looking for great candidates; they're specifically looking for candidates who are uniquely poised to take advantage of the distinct programs and opportunities that the school has to offer -- in other words, things you can't find anywhere else.

Great video! Is it true that Dartmouth let us choose major on second year? I’m not sure what I want to do yet. Am I able to take any courses for my first year? ( like taking environmental studies and then take engineering …)

Yes, you don't have to choose a major until sophomore year. You should first talk with a faculty advisor, but they'll probably recommend taking 3 courses. It's probably a good idea to start with at least one prerequisite.
