My Departure 70lb bow on 61lbs set for me/by me at 29.5 . I dont know what the mod is set at off the top of my head , but it is 29.5. I'm shooting a 340gr arrow at 61lbs at 296fps. Set up for ASA Known Senior Pro . Bow has good speed for the design and what it's for. With stabilizers all rigged out ,it is pretty dead in the hand .really caught me by surprise .

I don’t know about this bow, but other dartons are 1/2” long as well. I believe they measure draw length using the lowest letoff pad/spacer on the cable stop. If your running no spacer or a higher letoff spacer like 80% it runs long and you’ll have to adjust back 1/2” to account for it.

They’re good value, but sounds like the refinement isn’t yet there. FWIW, 1/2” DL is worth about 4, maybe 5 fps on most bows, but not 8fps (although maybe there are very rare instances where this is true). A very useful review and I take it that you were fairly underwhelmed. It’s a shame there’s lots of vibe. There is a lot about the bow’s specs and price to like

Same Oval shape cam as my 2013 PSE Omen Pro. Really hard to hold at full draw but keeping as my workout bow.😊

My guess is Bowtech will release right after Halloween. I am guessing the following: 1) A 33 axle to axle carbon bow, but they will still keep the Carbon One from last year too, giving a shorter and longer axle to axle carbon offering. My guess is they will use the Carbon One riser and put together some type of funky extension of the riser to get the axle to axle longer rather than take on the cost of a totally new riser. I bet they put time lock on this 33 inch carbon bow but not grip lock because that is difficult with the carbon. 2) My guess is a 33 inch aluminum speed bow that will include an integrated sight mount (for Black Gold since Bowtech and Black Gold are owned by same company). Time lock and grip lock will be on this bow too. 3) My guess is they will offer a 30-31 inch aluminum smooth bow with the integrated sight mount and time lock/grip lock. Not sure if they will keep the SS34 in the lineup or not. If not, hopefully the 33 inch aluminum bow will go to 30.5 or 31 inches of draw. Concerned about that honestly. If they don't keep the SS34 in the lineup, they won't be offering a longer a to a smooth bow, that would be a mistake in my humble opinion. My guess is the integrated sight system will be very nice, better than Mathews, but probably a downer for those who already have a $500 Spot Hogg or HHA system. But one can surely see what Bowtech would try to drive all of their customers to Black Gold. My gut tells me that Bowtech won't hit any homers this year.......just a guess. :)

Haha. I should have said the Bowtech sight system is, in my opinion, more aesthetically appealing than the Mathews system and the way the screw holds the sight on the Bowtech seems to be more secure than the Mathews system. @@derekbonser-xk7bz

Darton always has made great bows. They have a following. But then you have Mathews and Hoyt, throw in Bowtech, PSE etc. who would never consider anything else makes it, well, silly. Darton shooter's will try others and compare but they can't turn the table

I wonder if companies shoot bare shaft to get their speed rating a little higher. All the speed tests I see are with fletched arrows

If the speed stated is IBO, then the 60 lb is 10 lb short. It would be very close to the actual listed speed.

Correct, a wise person on FB reminded me about this. I think 60lb tests should end up about 10fps slower

That’s why he is shooting a 300 grain arrow. It’s 5 grains per pound @ 60lbs.

draw length is measured to the deep of the grip plus 1 3/4 inches This looks like its over 32 inches

C’mon, you been doing this long enough to know 1/2” is not 7-8 fps. Average is 5 fps. I will say this though I’m glad you are posting draw lengths, anything 1/4” long or over is unacceptable.

So is it irony that you didn’t put the title on the draw board? Because I used to be a Mathews shooter and I always thought I had a 27” draw length. Low and behold I have a 28” comfortable draw length. It’s just Mathew’s almost always ran 5/8 long on draw and there were quite a few that ran 3/4” long. And yes I was a bow hoe and I’ve owned almost every flag ship Mathew’s made from 2010 up until the 29” v3x and 33” v3x which were both 3/8” long. And yes I shoot darton now with a maverick and a prelude which are spot on btw. A lot of kool aid drinking on KZbin. Btw my claims can be verified through Dave at Seneca outpost as far as the amount of bows I’ve purchased with Mathews

Oh and one of the limbs featured on my trx34, my rpm 360 was more of a rpm 335. I had to shim my site on my bowtech realm because the cam lean was to radical to get it tuned right. My ventum 33 was without proper tuning for 6 months waiting on shims and the riser pealed in two spots.. my point is they are all made by human hands which are prone to mistakes. Which will happen no reason to condemn a fine product for trivial reasons. There’s only ever been one perfect and none of us are Christ so none of us can judge.. oh and my carbon spider sounded like 2x4’s slapping together when it shot so there’s that too.
