For accuracy, it is just a matter of practice. Focusing on a target, trip 20 let's say and just repetitive throws at it. It is a topic for another episode. Much of practice depends on what you are looking to improve. Stay tuned for future episodes where I will go over a few of my fav routines

Correct. There are other versions of the game where you do have to double in. Usually it is a lower score to start at. 301 is usually what you start at if it is double-in. Thanks for the question!

what score do get if you hit outside the double? does that count for anything?

Like above the board basically? It's always 0. If you hit a single then it's of course the single number.

It counts as "no score" or zero points.

@@amookehinde99 that is up to the tournament or league you are playing. Usually best of 3 at league level. Many tournaments are doing best of 5, with it being best of 7 or 9 if you make it to semis or finals. I play one league that is best of 15 legs and another that plays all 15 legs. So it definitely varies!!! If u are just starting out, try a best of 3 format 😉

Hi Garage Darts. Nice work you got here. kudos. I dont understand the NO SCORE rule. you gave an example of having a 16 point left and missing the double 8 but hitting a single 16. how come that is NO SCORE when all the points i have left is 16? Hope you understand what i mean. Nice Video too. thumbs

So, no score when you hit a single 16, but have 16 remaining is because you have to hit a double to end the game. Now if that dart had hit a single 14, you would still have 2 left, so that you could double out on the double 1. But hitting the single 16 leaves zero, so there is not a number left to take out on a double. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for the question!

Sorry I missed this message! So, in 501 you can not end the game on a single 16 if u have 16 left. You must end on a double. If you hit single 16, it is a bust, bc you can not throw another dart to double out, which u must do. If you hit a single 14 with 16 left that is ok, bc your next dart can be for double 1, ending on a double with the score of 16. ( not that I would recommend that route!) Double 8 would be the correct shot.
