Mad how much natural ability is required, seeing some of these you players hit 170 finishes etc is mental

been throwing for about 20 years, got my first 180 then next week got another, a year later got another then a week later got another, 4 in total, i get a 180 about every 10 million darts thrown hahaha, never thought id ever get one- i know the joy of getting one when you're average at best :)
@buttonmasher48515 жыл бұрын
I guess mechanical vs rythme throws really do matter. Ive been playing since im 12 to, now i am 16 en i throw a 180 every so 20 to 30 minutes, however you dont win games with 180's

I'm in my late 20's been playing for 6 months I've hit 2 180's and a 131 checkout. My problem is I'm so inconsistent I can throw an 80 average one leg and then a 40 average the next... Drives me crazy!

As far as holding the darts I started out with a rather complicated grip but did very well very quickly. After I'd been playing and moving up the ranks for about 2 years I seemed to reach a plateau. The best thing and also the most difficult thing I ever had to do was change my grip and release. I realized that the more I simplified my shot the less there was to go wrong with it. It took over 1 month but changing to a very simple 3 fingered grip and losing the spin I used to put on my darts helped me tremendously. From that point on in less than 2 more years I made it to State Champion. I owe it all to having the sense to simplify my grip and release.

I’m someone who’s only experience with darts was my old man down the boozer, past couple weeks I’ve started playing and found it’s incredibly entertaining and skilful, obviously I’m useless at it but that doesn’t bother me because it’s literally one of those games where you get better and better after every shot. Also top class video, don’t even know who either blokes are but 👌🏻👌🏻

Very good tips the pushing thing helped me very much now I do not pull the dart down anymore. And there is no "how to throw darts" so he can not say "hey do this and that" he just can give you some tips like do not copy your throw, throw how it feels good etc. But there are these few basics everyone should do
@andrewfrey55626 жыл бұрын
Yes. This is like my 10th video and it's basically like uhh... I throw like this... and it is all different. Not like this is the basics of throwing a football/baseball. It's like after a sixer you just kinda feel it out.

Darts can be intuitive. It's like throwing a ball. You don't really aim, just make hand and eye cooperate. Takes years of practice to perfect, but what doesn't?

@FISHDINHO7 жыл бұрын
I think that is the point though. It is an individual thing. No two dart players hold the dart the same. Or throw the same. Do what feels comfortable for you. There is no secret. You have to practice a lot. If you have good hand eye coordination and put in the hours. You will become a good player, no question. How good is probably up to natural ability though. Practice can only take you so far. I know a few guys that have practised 10-15 hours a week for 20 years that are good. But not as good as 16-year-olds that have been practising the same for 2-3 years. It is what is I suppose.
