@ChaosTridentwell.. yeah.. Bands get some Money from Spotify. But the amount of money is a fucking joke. If your Band isn't like really big and mainstream-ish, you get more money from begging on random streets. If you like a band, you should just buy their music.

For any small band without a big enough label (so: basically close to all and every black metal band, maybe excluding the biggest ones) its a losing deal since they pay digital distributors to put the stuff on spotify for them and pay a monthly fee for that, and all they ever get out of spotify is far beneath the level of being even payed out (like: 1 dollar per year or something, I kid you not). That basically is why so many bands give their albums to established yt channels to publish, that is for the band free promotion at least, instead of promotion they have to pay for like spotify is. If you like a band and want to stream it on the go, go to their bandcamp page and stream it there / pay the band for it.
