Make sure you tour the tunnels underneath near Darwin harbour. They are where they stored the oil to resupply all the ships during WWII. You will learn all about the Japanese bombing of Darwin which involved more planes and bombs than Pearl Harbour, very little known fact. Enjoy whatever you do guys.

A bit of historic trivia for u guys which u may not be aware of and may surprise u . More bombs were dropped on Darwin by the Japanese during the second world war than were dropped @ Pearl Harbor. There is a war museum there which details the strategic importance of Darwin and its port to the war as regards to the Pacific region of the conflict.

My brother lives in Darwin and is one of the few who have a fishing licence because he runs fishing charters. I've been up to visit a couple of times but I always go in the dry season to escape the winters where I live. It is a beautiful respite from the cold but a real shock when I come back home. He has always warned me not to come in the wet season the heat and humidity is choking, something you need to be acclimatised to. We went to Crocodylis Park once and I was amazed at the price of crocodile skin goods at their shop considering they breed the crocs for that very reason, a small change purse cost so much that you wouldn't be left with any money to fill it, something akin to living off the sheep's back but with crocs belly's instead. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, excellent hotel room, did you try the Barramundi (fish) or perhaps a mud crab? Cheers !!😀🥰👍🐟🐊🦀

Well, the humidity at the time I was there nearly killed me. Ive been down to the harbour where wild fishes in the harbour waters expected to be fed. They were like junkies. Plants and animals are so different and amazing. Reptiles looking so interesting but snakes and spiders are not my favourites. Thanks for sharing with us.

Darwin is a great place for a holiday I've been twice and found heaps to do and see . Kakadu national Park is a must day trip if you have the time you get to see crocodiles in the wild with lots of bird species , it is also an aboriginal sacred site and they have rock paintings that go back thousands of years , if you have even more time a visit to Lichfield national Park is also a good day trip on the way you can checkout the largest termite clay nests in the world over two meters tall with some reaching up to five meters and they are called magnetic because they all point north .oh and by the way that's not rain your experiencing that's liquid sunshine . Great vlog better than most I've seen .

If you guys are coming back to Sydney before you fly back home, you should do a day trip down to Wollongong and drive along Seacliff Bridge. Lunch at the newly renovated Imperial is a must. The other option is to head north and visit the Hunter Valley for some wine tasting and attend a music festival. 😊

Totally agree re the Mindil Beach Markets (Thursday and Sunday evenings if I remember correctly). The prawn skewers are fabulous! Also try one of the croc tours on the Adelaide River (on the way to Kakadu past a place called Humpty Doo) - up close and personal with crocs in the wild from the relative safety of a boat.

@@AshandKels when I was younger my parents and my sisters drove from Melbourne to Noosa in QLD 3 times a year for about 6/7 years in a row …my parents made up this game that they would only stop and explore a town but had to go in order A. B. C. Ect until we made it to Noosa …we would drive from our down to somewhere like Ararat Bega ect or little towns in between that would last trip up to QLD and back would break up the boring driving and as kids we always had something to do as we had to find the towns so we would look forward to where ever we landed ..our parents made the rule that we could stop there again (unless we loved it) and it always had to be somewhere new I mean you guys are older then we were so all we were looking for were Lilly shops and fun play grounds ect but you guy could make it heaps more exciting …good restaurants alcohol spots ect 🤣
