Heads-Up: I truly wish you continue making these videos. I have looked a lot on KZbin for other videos like yours. Sure, I am finding one or two - here and there, but your knowledge, technique, and methods, discussed in real-time, where you end-up with a finished product at the end of the video is truly top-notch and very much appreciated. *I feel that, If I don't have a new video watch each week, that I'm not getting my updates on the world of briefcase design, development, and manufacturing. It's almost like you have your own television network show. Thank you.

cool thanks, I have a bunch I did a few weeks ago i just have to edit them because sometimes I go on and on, which is interesting to me but I don't think to others. I should start some new ones up once I'm not as busy as I am now.

Ooops. I accidentally deleted my text. Again: Yes, I'm glad that more up almost ready for posting. I have been waiting for the next videos. Was saying: I would be really neat to see a new show; maybe something snazzy called Seekin HIDES. (Thinking out loud): a new reality show might feature Marcellino NY, the origins story, the back story on how someone or maybe the family came to work with leather, how the company began making the first briefcases, satchels, and handbags, who began calling for them, where "they come from," what they want to order, making the orders, both standard and customized briefcases, making special orders for corporations who want a specialized corporate style case, handbag, or portfolio for company anniversaries, retired folk, fundraisers, and maybe special occasions. As a attorney to be, I often thought about having the same briefcases for certain staff, e.g, the paralegal, the legal secretary, and one or three for the partners (if I ever finish), lol. Then M NY could show, how they even make gentlemen Harley Davidson biker cases have a custom feature attachment so the briefcases quickly attach to the bike, or fit snug inside the Harley bike cases. *...Wanted to order those about two summers ago when I bought a bike, but I sold it.. Anyway, a show like that I would really like to watch on a ongoing basis. Hmmmm... *If you ever get a show, you can send a DARWIN with the M NY logo branded on the inside top flop. That would be a show to watch. How appropriate and very impressive indeed..! :)

Okay, lol; thanks for the compliment. Oh, just remembered: The CLOVIS RODEO in Central California, i.e., Fresno, California is next month. Do you have any "OLD COWBOY" STYLE CASE videos I might post on my facebook? ...Seems that there are a lot of people around in Central California that love leatherworks, but there is NOTHING that I normally see that features a Western Style case that could speak to Harley Riders, Cowboy and Country folk. ...Seems that much of what is out there is pretty much designed for folk that work in the City, and not so much for folk that live in the Country, and just "do their business in the City before going back to their homes in the suburbs or actual rural and country areas. (thinking out loud again.., lol). :)

Man, this is practically identical to the case I'm in the progress of making but your design with the gussets is even better. You even have the type of handle that I want to use as well, one that lays flat when not in use. The concern I have, however, is whether the handle will hold up in the long run to the weight? Seems like over time the ends will end up cupping and then slipping though the keepers. One solution I though of was to add metal support underneath the ends, but maybe that's overkill. Also, to keep it as flat as possible, I think I'll run the strap through the case itself instead of exterior keepers. Very nice case...great design.

This is a portfolio so the handle is meant as a secondary. This is really meant to be carried in the hand and not really with the handle, so if thats the case the handle is fine for the long run. If built right it wont come out of the keeps.

my high end hardware is made for me, but i do use vendors like tandy leather or buckle guy is a good one

Your workmanship is very good. However I don't like the concept which I know was a clients design. How can you sit in court and use this effectively 5:59. It opens up far too wide. I used something similar but without a flap closure and an all around zip.. Less unwieldy than this design.

I was doing some comparison shopping this morning. Earlier, I just finished cleaning, polishing, and conditioning that black briefcase we spoke about in early March. Check this out: - The GUCCI mens briefcase has a touch of elegance, as it has this subtle finish stitch on the front top closing flap. The case isn't nearly as beautiful, tough, and durable as the Marcellino NY cases, nevertheless, they are asking $3,400.00 with total confidence. To their credit, their current case does appear as a slightly more finished top flap, in that the obvious and "machine finish stitching" attempts to add yet another layer and step that offers the owner a sense, that the briefcase is as sophisticated a piece of leatherwork; something that might be compared to the workmanship of the comparable DARWIN cases for a gentleman or a lady - crafted by Marcellino NY. I like the shape of the bag and warm French leather color. I like the really tight stitching on the front flap, I don't know how durable that it is but I don't think that would matter. Not too crazy about big logos on bags and I am amazed at that price point that customer is even buying it, they usually know better. You usually see logos plastered everywhere at the lower price bags. For the life of me can't figure out why a cotton lining and I would not rely on a fishtail handle for a large gusset bag, you usually want something that can handle weight better, but it does have that shoulder strap so I see the bag more crossbody

*Oh yeah.., lol.. right - That doesn't make sense at all... (Cotton Lining..??) Yes: I have personally never liked that "transition to the fishtail handle on a gentleman's case." Everything about the fishtail handle tells me, that I'm not a serious professional who is carrying a professional-level case. My $250 dollar school messenger bag does the same job, and despite the soft leather handle, it is "still" not a fishtail handle. I don't believe in the design beyond a point, and I don't think it would (as you mentioned earlier), be good for handling the full weight of the materials that are sometimes placed within a case.

Yes. Agreed. I think the logos on bags make the bag look "over the top" and cheap if you ask me. I think that is a carry-over from the designs and look a company could get away with in the early-mid 80's; appealing probably to glamour, style, and fashion. However, ...I think the world changed considerably in the last 30 years. ...People are "much more subtle" about looking or giving off, or even "suggesting" the appearance of having a narcissistic personality. It seems like less is more in this era.
