I think the terminology might confuse those new to the hobby. With quads, RTF (ready to fly) usually means “everything you need to fly from zero is in the box - radio, quad, receiver, battery & charger”. Bind and fly (BNF) is what this quad would be if a receiver is installed, and a BNF without a receiver is called plug and play (PNP).

I keep seeing in forms/sellers that you can't get replacement motors for these other than directly from DarwinFPV (but no real reason why, meaning exact duplicate or they have some odd bolt hole layout, or KV). Not knocking DarwingFPV, i have the DarwingFPV 129 (the one that is like the Tyro129, but the Darwin version is better) and I love that thing.

got the tiny, and baby and been happy with them so v2 is a purchase to come., elrs and of course a better cam. and antenna,, my v1 was attacked by a hawk but survived , still going strong

What are those black/gray bars at the top of the osd and how do you get rid of them? Are you reviewing the 6s version? I would think a sub 250 6s would have plenty of power but maybe not?

Disclaimer... I am very new to FPV. When I arm my baby ape 2, it launches instantly even if my throttle is down. Do you have any ideas as to what could be causing this? A little more info... No matter what I do in ESC configurator and betaflight, I can not change the direction of props 1 and 4. (It will change in ESC configurator when i first change it, but it seems to default back when i go to betaflight.

The quad wants to fly because the throttle isn't at zero or the ESCs think that it isn't. If the model lifts off level, then it is unlikely to be that all ESCs are all uncalibrated exactly the same way so I'd check your radio setup and modes. Only have Angle and Arm modes selected. See my radio setup for Betaflight and Quadcopter building for beginners series for all the steps I use... Best of luck

Can someone please let me know what else I need to buy other than the Baby Ape pro to get started? None of the sites make it easy to understand. If there was a starter kit I'd be interested. Also do I need a windows PC? Only have a Chromebook and android phone

You need a compatible radio for the receiver in the model. Most radios are either multiprocotol (MPM) and can talk to legacy receiver types. Or, ExpressLRS which is the choice for lots of pilots for new stuff. Having an android phone for setup is fine if you have something like the SpeedyBee Adapter.,. www.speedybee.com/speedy-bee-adapter-2/

With any RTF you need to bind a reciever, check the radio settings are good in Betaflight and the modes and OSD is how you want... Happy flying

Yes, you'll need an RX that talks SBUS or CRSF..
