I thought the kiss might happen this episode. Daryl asked her (and Laurent) to come back to America with him! I've thought they were into each other as far back as season 1. Especially once they arrived at The Nest, it was clear that Daryl was very attuned to Isabelle. I also don't think that it's a coincidence that her name is a version of Elizabeth (Beth), and is another blonde. As far as I remember, Daryl and Leah never kissed, because they filmed that episode revealing their past relationship during Covid, and wrote it around having to observe Covid protocols.

I'm a hard core Donnie shipper, so I'm disappointed that that's either never gonna happen after all, or if something did eventually continue there, there'd be this awkward Jessie-type interval in between.

Even if Laurent turned out to be immune, which is the speculation they are intending to test... It doesn't guarantee he can, in any way, pass that on. And let's remember the walkers don't have to turn you, they just want to devour you. Laurent isn't immune from being ripped apart. I was never instrument flight rated. I wasn't licensed to fly on instruments alone, therefore I could only pilot an aircraft under visual flight regulations. I had to be able to read the map, recognize landmarks, and navigate by visual cues. If Ash was properly trained on instrument flight, which I believe is required for a pilot operating from the USA to cross a massive featureless body of water as far as the eye can see, he would be able to ascertain his position based on his heading and speed, even if it's pitch black outside, as long as he has his instrument panels working. [I haven't been in a pilot or co-pilot position in a couple decades, but once society collapsed, I don't think the same rules apply. No Air Traffic Controller to report your unapproved course changes, no government agency to suspend your license, no airport emergency services to save your butt if you obliterate half your plane on landing. (I have such a happy imagination) ]

Katie, I think you are right about not seeing Daryl kissing anyone else on screen. It was heavily implied with Leah in TWD Season 10 with the flashbacks but it was during the pandemic so kissing in shows took a serious nosedive. So this kiss with Daryl and Isabelle seems to be a first for Daryl. Let's consider how long Daryl has been "celibate" most of his character development. When the show was embracing more diversity, Connie was on Daryl's radar. Carol also was jealous for a while about the possibility. Also many TWD viewers are hard core racists and on the US side there were many complaints about Daryl and Connie becoming a thing same with Carol and Ezekiel. Viewership and ratings will drive profit sharing and how a script is written and the direction of the CEO and producers want so they get paid. Half of America is racist and when the show stopped showcasing diversity especially in romance it seemed like the writing got magically better. If I were to ignore the business side of the TWD franchise and the lawsuits, CEO misogyny and racism of AMC; I'm able to appreciate Season 1 of Daryl Dixon spinoff. I used to so impatient about waiting for the entire season to complete and then watch it. But there's much wisdom in waiting for the series to be completed, with time jumps and tying events from the original series absorbing the whole series after its completed offers the critical viewer a better source of entertainment and material to understand. Norman Reedus gets paid minimum 1 million dollars per episode as he has TWD since season 7 or 8 he is the highest paid actor in television right now. In my eyes I want to see him show his acting range and be challenged. I've seen him in other shows and know he is capable of more complexity, so I truly hope his growth as a character in his spin off is pushing and challenging him and not resting on laurels of convenience. Melissa always brings her A game, like Danai and Andrew to each episode they are in. I look forward to Norman Reedus blowing us away with his acting skills this season.
