DASH-0005A Custom Dash on a Club Car DS

Installation instructions for a custom dash (DASH-0005A) on a Club Car DS. The DASH-0005A has a carbon fiber finish. The same video applies to the woodgrain version, DASH-0004A.
Cup replacements (DASH-0100) are also available through your RHOX dealer.
This project does require you to lengthen the ignition wire. Make sure to have wire cutters, strippers and crimpers. You'll also want extra wire the same gauge as the ignition wire as well as (2) butt splice connectors. Wire and connectors are not included with the dash.

@@GolfCartInstructions well…I couldn’t get the steering wheel off! I tried all the KZbin tricks and tips. One guy had to cut the steering wheel off in one video. Lol! I’ll have to have someone take it off for me. 🤦‍♀️

What about adding a gasket behind the mounting surface, i have some double sided foam weather stripping, seems like that would create a better seal ?

Did you use the 1/8 drill bit to drill into the cart or the bigger one?

You did’t originally say you needed tools, wire, and electric connections to extend the ignition ground. Also, what size drill bits did you use where? The bigger drill bit for the dash and the smaller for the cart frame or opposite?

Thank you for letting us know. I'll add a note to the caption about the additional tools and components for the ignition wire. He used the 1/8" (.125) bit to make the pilot holes in the dash but did not say which he used to drill the pilot holes on the cart. I would start with 1/8" and if that's too small, use the 9/64" bit (.140625). You can always go bigger, but you can't put material back. You will want the hole to be slightly smaller than the screw so it has metal to bite into. Good catch!

Do you offer any dashes with a din receiver spot and two speakers if you do do you have a video on it I would like to see what it looks like and how easy it is to install

What size screws did you use for the new dash? what size gauge is the wire extenders?

I believe it is 18 ga wire. The screws are just sheet metal screws.

I wish there were pictures of the orientation of the color wires on the light switch and the key stitch?

You are just extending the current setup to reach the dash so the wires will be in the same orientation as they are in from OE. You could label them or take a photo before you disassemble it, then test them with a voltage meter to be sure.

Can anyone tell me the dimension of the flat face where the key switch hole is cut? I am wondering if a small marine gauge size stereo unit would fit as well as the back spacing to the closest cup holders for same reason.

We do not have those dimensions available. It would all depend on the size of your stereo too.

one thing that you guys didn't think about is adding an ignition key nut that matches the color of the dash.. the silver nut stands out.. don't like it!

Thanks for the tip. I'll pass it along to our product development team. You may be able to hit it with a marker or some paint to help disguise it for the current dash you have. Just make sure to keep the threads clean.

They need to tell you that you need expensive drill bits to drill through the metal to be able to attach the dash.

@@GolfCartInstructions BTW anyone there that can provide expertise on a 93 CC DS no idle problem? I just got this nice little golf cart and after replacing the carb, fuel filters, spark plug, and fuel pump, she doesn’t idle. I have to pump the pedal to get her started and keep it running. When I put it in gear to drive around it seems OK then I have to pump the pedal. Any chance somebody there might help?

@@mr.peabody3509 Off the top of my head and without seeing the cart, you could check how the idle is set, there could be a vacuum leak, check the valve lash (I don't know how much this would affect the idle but it's worth checking). Make sure the fuel pump is functioning correctly. Check the carb settings to make sure the fuel/air ratio is correct. You can check out the Buggies Gone Wild Forum too. There is a lot of useful information there too.
