I had to take the driving test twice in NC. The first time, I was frazzled and made some bad mistakes. The second time, I was more confindent and had studied the driver's handbook more thoroughly. The only thing I failed was the 3 point turn on a narrow road, my 2 back tired went off the road.. I messed it up both times and I knew the second time but luckily it was just grass off the side of the road. :)

I've been told as a possible monocular driver, To always scan ahead, look side to side, check your rearview mirror, and side mirrors. To check blind spots, look left, right, and left again. Most importantly, don't let others pressure you.

My test date is September 25th. I’m so nervous because I haven’t been given many opportunities to practice behind the wheel over the past 3 years. I’ve signed up for 12 hour lessons tho. Live in Georgia and if you’ve heard the news you can imagine why I’m in a bit of a rush to get my license to be official. Parallel is the easiest part of the test, watch some videos and just go do it with 1car in front and have somebody stand behind it helps you get the feel of how far you actually can back up without hitting anything.

I do feel for you! If you are driving small car , it is actually much easier to do. During my test in 1986 , I had been only one who passed parallel parking driving 1976 AMC Pacer named Bubbles when others were driving big sedans and big suv.

A couple tips: 1st: study your car. Its helps to know your car and how it turns, moves, and accelerates. Most of time it's a shock to the instructors thinking you're hammering the accelerator thinking you're speeding when really you're barely giving gas. 2nd: Doing the correct movements when turning, signaling or accelerating from a stop sign. Its important for the instructors to watch you on how you makes signals or how you approach a stop or make a lane change. Shoulder check yourself every time you signal. It reassures the instructors that you're in control and are calm when changing lanes or turning. 3rd: Be calm, and schedule your test mid week for minimal traffic. Don't be like me and schedule on Friday for 10:20am or bad example. Do a breathing exercise before you go to take your test. And don't overthink it, if you stress out. The instructor will thing you're not in control, the main part of test is remaining calm and stress-free. 4th: That's it, three simple tips. Took mine and passed on the first try, most instructors will give you a chance to redo your parallel parking, a minimum of three tries hopefully.

I’m in Pennsylvania and this state require no More then 3 tries for a road test. This will be my 3rd road test next Thursday and my examiner is very confident that I will pass but don’t go to your town’s dmv but told me to just come to this dmv and ask for him by name (he suggested not to even schedule this road test online). When taking your test and see a big pot hole in the road is it better to go around it n crossing into the empty lane going the opposite direction or what do I do in that situation?

Avoid the pothole, but be careful not to merge into oncoming traffic. The instructor will say or do something to avoid injury or accident.

Do I have to make a complete stop at an uncontrolled intersection?

No, if there are no stop signs/signal lights, do not come to a stop unless completely necessary. For example, oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, or bicyclists in the intersection. Just proceed with caution.

So treat it as a yield, just slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary. Always yield to vehicles already in the intersection. And if a car gets there before you, let them go first. Just like a marked intersection but you don’t have to stop, yield right-of-way rules still apply though. So any cars going in front of you that could be a hazard, yield to them. Hope I explained well enough.

Hope it goes well to both of you! I had mine yesterday. I passed, but the waiting game before i had it was horrible, i was so scared haha. But once the test started, my mind calmed down and went straight into driving mode. It also helped that i didnt have to parallel park.
