Blokes have to consider things like "what if this is misinterpreted" all the time. Years ago, I was out walking the dog and found a young kid in nappies completely alone outside in a quiet side road, drinking from the gutter. First thing I did was immediately flag down the next vehicle that passed and straight-out told the middle-aged woman driver "I need a witness please" and she understood immediately why. Cops were called. Turns out some teen was too busy playing computer games and not babysitting, so kid had gone for an explore.

@@owainbennett6388 if I were that kid and got accused I wouldn't even know how to react; I'd be too confused and stunned as to how trying to help a kid makes me a sexual predator. Social suicide. in high school i never stood up for myself, teachers called up my parents for drawing guns in school. it wasn't even guns being used to shoot classmates or teachers or anything like that. literally something you'd see in a call of duty menu screen, that's all it was. but that was apparently concerning enough that they had to ring my mum up. ironically a few years later some kids got radicalised and went off to syria to fight for ISIS. principal held an assembly about it and everything lol. meanwhile, i now have a gun license and am an even bigger gun nut, and out of petty spite, at a class reunion I made sure to let the teachers that were involved in calling my mum up know that I had a license, while congratulating them for stopping those kids going to ISIS lol
@edbo10
@edbo10 2 жыл бұрын
@sourand jaded "but all i saw of guns was that they killed things. all we had them for. kill things" I find just shooting guns at a range a great way to blow off steam. you haven't lived till you've tried firing a hk51... some people grow up with guns and like you, shun them when they're older. other people grow up with guns and start their own collections, or end up being pro shooters. To each their own indeed. But my issue is how I didn't even draw anything that could be considered disturbing or concerning. A gun is a tool, and like any tool, its use is dependent on the person that picks it up. But according to my teachers, I was more of a risk than the people that got radicalised and joined ISIS! hahaha the irony. You're goddamn right I rubbed it in their fucking faces years later. People have had their lives messed up for less.

As @Jacare 111 said, it is an offence to block an intersection. You may or may not get thanked - but one day, you will get fined. The absence of a "Keep Clear" sign is not relevant. No intersection can be blocked (The Keep Clear sign is only there on those intersections that have received the most complaints.)

To clarify, at that side road coming onto a main road which is controlled by a Give Way sign (at 5:16), is considered an "intersection"? Therefore those 2 cars behind didn't have the right to move up? If I may ask please, would you know the code / rule for this on a government site? Thanks! I'll note on the crash compilations a significant number of actual crashes are from a car turning right across multiple lanes from a side-road. The car being hit can't see incoming traffic, and vice versa!

Drivers just need to realise they still need to pay attention. Some people mistakes the "I'll let you go through " wave, with the "It's all good to go wave". I do leave a space but don't wave anyone out unless it is actually clear for them to go, just in case. I would never blast through a gap like the drivers appearing here do, it's crawl out until I can see the road is clear. Many years ago this did happen to me, I indicated to let the guy know he could pass in front of me, but he read that as "Thunderbird's are GO!" and blasted out of cross street. He had a small bingle but I was long gone by then.

24:51 Some of the foreigners watching this may not completely understand the stupid driving in this section of highway beyond the straddling of two lanes. Australian highways - especially near coastal areas - have uphill passing lanes that allow faster moving vehicles to pass slower-moving heavy trucks in these areas. This is mostly because the government rightfully cannot afford to build 4-lane carriageways everywhere. Australia is a country as big as the continental United States with a population of less than 10 percent of the US. Straddling the lanes dangerously impedes the flow of traffic and generally pisses off other drivers bigtime!

11:00 Always look both ways when coming out onto a road. 17:57 Bad driving from both. Mr Parker should have used hazard lights, and Mr Impatient should have passed more slowly. 18:08 Good use of the horn there to warn the pedestrians. 21:19 Dangerous (but understandable) of the bike to assume the oncoming car was going to stop

Yes because the first thing I expect when I see a driver with a right indicator on and moving to the right is that they are about to turn left. It's the same reason why I never pass to the left of a right- turning vehicle and block up everyone behind me. When they start honking I just say "yeah but he could go left!!"

Why would he use hazard lights? How about just checking his left shoulder before turning into oncoming traffic without any warning? Wait for the car to drive past then turn left?

@@traj7196 classic dashcam moment. speeds into a situation where a driver is doing stupid shit then act all surprised when they find themselves in the middle of stupid shit.
