If anyone is curious about the first case with Tayvin Galanakis, he sued the three cops involved. The officer that spoke the most, Nathan Winters, sued him for defamation. Tayvin had claimed that Winters had beaten his ex-girlfriend. Winters's ex has a domestic abuse restraining order against him and submitted an affidavit alleging abuse. During the trial, instead of giving testimony, Winters plead the 5th.

That first officer is dangerous and I’m not being dramatic. From the very start of the interaction, he is being condescending, lying, and very obviously trying to rile up the young man. He craves discourse because he wants to abuse his “power”. The driver was calm, cooperative and respectful but the officer was posturing and looking for conflict. Even with a temperature of 10 below zero, I used to go about in lederhosen. The feeling of freedom they give you is wonderful. Abandoning my shorts was one of the biggest sacrifices I had to make… Anything up to five degrees below zero I don't even notice. Every single time I see an elderly person who has trouble seeing or moving around, or someone who is disabled, I walk right up to them with a smile and ask if I could help. That also works incredibly well if you have a reason to think that someone's stealing. Just be super polite and approach them in conversation. He helped get a couple of actual corrupt cops prosecuted. He was an avid reader and Serpico was one of his favorite books. I still have his copy. When he joined the force, Nashville had just become one of the first metropolitan forces. The sheriff that had controlled the county before that was known to be corrupt. He and his partner were involved in investigating aspects of this. The sheriff was still in office in charge of corrections and had many corrupt deputies that were loyal. Some of these deputies joined the police department as they wanted to maintain their law enforcement powers. Some of these former deputies were in high positions within the police department. His partner was keeping some evidence at his home until they could turn it over to the TBI. Just like a movie script, his home was burglarized and nothing taken but the incriminating documents. My family and I have been watched by staff at walgreens because I am sensitive and read all the ingredients before I purchase skincare and dollar stores followed as if we look like theives.. we have more money in our bank accts than they do.. just because we don't wear our money for show.. we are average folks that dress clean cut.. but not flashy.. that shouldn't even matter if i look like a bum.. I have walked out of places refusing to spend our money there being treated that way.. I feel so horrified after seeing how they treated that poor disabled man when he was counting his money and trying to pay for his merchandise at checkout.. why would staff need to call police for possible theft???? He's at checkout with money.. why not walk over and ask him of he needs some help.. then the officers showed up clearly seeing he wasn't stealing anything.. decided to treat him like a piece of crap with aggression and hostility.. and a lot of sarcasm.. making threats to nail him with false charges!!!! Infuriates me.. this is exactly why we have to record everything... I would have sued for mental aguish and suffering.. and they stole his money too.. banned him from ever going to the target location.. first off, I would never go there again as this stemmed from evil doers there.. this is so sad... I used to have respect for officers now, and I am beginning to see them for who they are !!!!

Its so sad bc its not all officers, just the overzealous power hungry ones that do this stuff, my dad used to be the best cop ever in Honolulu. It's OK to have specialized security forces to help, especially when really bad things happen (e.g. terrorists hold hostages at gunpoint), but they shouldn't have "authority" per se. It's just a job. You could pay a private/nonprofit insurance and have highly trained guys come over to help you, but they can still be the same civilians as everybody else. I don't want to pay taxes and watch police prosecute drug dealers, although I personally hate drugs. If some junkies disturbed me in my area, which previously didn't have junkies and I didn't agree to them coming, I should have the right to make them leave. If they had higher intelligence they'd have been disqualified from becoming police. Or at least, would have had better opportunities. @@StatesMusic First, who's deciding what's "right" for who? And no, others going "Because I say so for you" isn't cutting it. The fact is things aren't black and white. It's ones one actions and choices at the end of the day. Which will have consequences. If you play your cards right you can turn the tables on a cop. Even if arrested. It's all about getting them to realize there's no moral high ground. That they're just as bad as what they judge somehow. People are often blind to their own actions. The truth is the truth though. Just present the logic with straight answers to questions and sticking to facts. If they play the "legal" cards then play the "You're a hypocrite" card. Some cops know they're pricks. Their own words. Some know they can do better but maybe aren't sure how. People pretend standard training is enough. It's not. If I was teaching cops I'd do it while also teaching criminals. By making a point about how dishonest can cost lives. What would I make this point? Because cops are trained to lie and use fake evidence. Once that becomes a habit then how can you trust yourself when used to lies and deception? Even if knowing the truth first, if you tell yourself something so many times you can believe the lie. That's if you mean to do it. So imagine but easy and common it is from bad habit alone. It's no wonder the law can't be trusted.

There is another video where a cop sees two cars parked illegally on the street (It is a narrow street and is is all a no parking zone. In addition, they were mostly in a lane of traffic.) There are not a lot of houses in the area, so it is obvious what house they belong to. He goes up and knocks on the door and shouts that he is police and just wants to talk to them. It appears no one is home. He goes back to his vehicle and calls two two trucks. It takes about an hour for the tow trucks to get there. While he is waiting, he knocks and shouts a few more times before giving up because clearly no one is home. When the two trucks show up and start hooking up to the first car, a young adult female runs out of the house screaming. She is on the phone with her boyfriend. The cop explains that the tow company now has possession of the first car. If she can move the second car before the tow truck hooks up, she can avoid the tow charge on it. She can't. She says boyfriend owns the second car, his friend owns the first car, both of them are less than five minutes away and they are on the way. By the time the boys get there, the second car is on the truck, and the first car is gone. If she had talked to the officer thru the door, he would have told her to move the cars, and they could have just put the cars in the huge driveway that had plenty of room for them. Don't ignore police. Don't have a casual conversation with them, but it can pay to listen to what they have to say.

They should have just explained they got a call and were investigating it, asked if he needed help to count the money out, check that he paid for all items, and made sure he got a receipt. If it comes up that he didn't have enough money for everything, get a clerk to help him put an item back. Everyone says "have a nice day". End of interaction. That's how I expect EVERYONE to be treated in this situation. They didn't even ask him what he was doing or if he needed help - straight to arresting him. Really poor policing. The guy was clearly disabled, was polite, and wasn't in much of a condition to run away anyway. Terrible inhumane decision to roughly handle him like that. I would really expect any public servant to be able to recognise disabilities like this. Scared the heck out of the poor guy! I think they did this because they thought "there's something wrong with this guy" and totally misread his situation and intentions. In Australia, we do not have sobriety tests because they do not determine if a person is drunk or not. We have breath analysis, testing equipment. Field sobriety test should be illegal.

@KelniusTV 27 күн бұрын
According to what I found online, participating in Field Sobriety Tests is entirely voluntary, and you can decline to participate. As it is a test of sobriety, by definition it is not used against people charged with DUI [as the purpose of the test is to collect evidence that you've committed DUI], so cops have no right to make you perform for them.

@@KelniusTVyou are correct but leaving out the fact that if the Officer/Deputy/Trooper insists you are intoxicated and you decline? The next step is jail. So declining is the same as failing the test. It's rigged in most cases.
@KelniusTV
@KelniusTV 24 күн бұрын
@Silent_Shadow That simply isn't true. The purpose of such a test is to gauge how intoxicated you are (it's a "test" after all, even though it's flawed). A police officer cannot declare the outcome of a test, and then require you to take it, that makes no sense. They can't insist upon you going anywhere, and infringe upon your rights, without reasonable cause. You're right in one sense, though... it is rigged. Most citizens don't know their rights, but even if they did (as shown here) many police officers in that situation gladly abuse their power simply so they feel in control, they can lie and say you seem intoxicated, requiring a blood test at the station (as carsen1GTFO said), they can insist they have the right to search your person, or vehicle, to look for drugs (even though they don't). They do whatever the hell they want with impunity, because all cops are bastards. If there was one fact I left out, it was that.

I had this exact same thing happen. I was literally pulled over for over an hour as the cop gave me the sobriety test, had me do the breathalyzer, searched my vehicle and even called other officers for backup. Ended up letting me go after the other officers showed up, talked to me for 2 minutes and told the officer who pulled me over to let me go.

This is one of the first voice-over "stolen content" (for lack of a kinder phrase) videos that I truly appreciate. SP (as opposed to OP) offered up more depth & a fuller version of the situation than the other more biased clips of these same events that I've seen. Good onya, Secondary Poster.

I have been through this for the majority of my growing up from 15to28 now most of those cops that use to run together in a group just hunting us down daily all now has been promoted and in separate places and has gotten away with all tbey did to us for years , which is the main reason i spent so much time in jail all on the account of these type of officers that all has gotten away with being that way, now what do i do because my life is ruined and I'm now looked at to be a criminal of society, which is another reason i have not made it but so far in my life which has been hard for me and those like me, now what do we do ,
