That was simply too much rear brake to get him into the slide in the first place (you can see brake light come on as the slide starts), and pure luck that he stayed on. There's no "staying on the throttle" when you're the one standing on the rear brake, lol. I'd be willing to bet on a lack of experience and not enough confidence in the front brake.
@seanylewl Жыл бұрын
He lost traction due to the rear brake locking up, so definitely don't want to be on the throttle. In that situation you want to stay on the brakes even though you're sliding, as regaining traction suddenly is what will cause you to high side. You can see it in the clip, he's braking, then starts to skid, then releases the brakes and a second later regains traction which is what causes the flick at the end. Had he kept the brake down he could have just slid to a stop (or low sided eventually lol). Either way he still did well for a code brown situation.
@cameronliddell9533 Жыл бұрын
when your car starts to slid out regardless of if your in a fwd, rwd or awd the absoluter last thing you want to do is hit the brakes. FWD: steer into the slide and closely release pressure on the throttle till the car gets grip agin, RWD: same thing, AWD: hope and pray one set of wheels grips up again. Didn't look like you maintained sufficient space to slow down and give yourself more thinking time. Picking from your own "justification"... 1. Vehicle in front slows down, your first response should to slow down, not turn on the indicator. 2. Head check to merge??? You didn't consider taking responsibility for your own driving and actually slowing down? You wanted to just avoid the situation and make it someone else's problem to let you into their lane? 3. Only 2 seconds after your head check??? More like a maximum of 2 seconds between your indicator and the collision. You had only a 2 second gap between you and the vehicle in front of you. You didn't have "plenty of time to merge". And your "had she not braked" is further evidence of your total inability to accept the consequence of your actions which followed your poor judgement. 4. If you had enforced your entitlement and entered the lane to your right, it would've put the car behind you at severe risk and they'd have probably crashed into you instantly.

When I am reversing up my drive I have to deactivate it as it slams on as I get close to the side wall. Occasionally it will detect an object that isn't there too. That circle you are talking about is in Melton. It is flat to accommodate the overly large but always empty PT buses that stop at the nearby train station. If I win the lottery, I would love to personally send $50 to every dash cam owner who successfully uses their brakes and defensive driving skills to avoid a collision - instead of blasting the horn and ramming it.
@CharSiuBao07 Жыл бұрын
There are cases where insurance won't cover it if you swerved to avoid the collision but then caused a separate accident. In most cases of congested traffic, you're better off taking the hit and claiming insurance. If you're quick to look around and there aren't many cars around, you can avoid but in congested traffic, that's a risk not worth taking.
@aidan9958 Жыл бұрын
@@CharSiuBao07 Definitely. But I'm referring to the video submissions in which the driver made a conscious decision to make no attempt to brake, instead applying the horn and subsequently colliding with the other vehicle intentionally to assert their right of way. The driver "in the right" may feel justified in their righteousness that the other driver was in the wrong, but if I had a choice between being involved in a car wreck with potential injury, or taking reasonable action to prevent an avoidable collision, I would choose the latter. Some collisions are unavoidable, but majority of simple, everyday driving mistakes have a window of opportunity to self-correct.

I've had similar things happen like at 6:00 with the wanker truck driver that thinks he can just bully everyone and thinking that a blinker on means they can just swerve across 3 lanes and anyone in the way is at fault. I would love to see the loser dragged out of his truck and severely beaten. fun fact, if you change 1 lane with your blinker on, you have to actually turn it off and then turn it back on if you want to keep changing lanes. You don't own the road, losers.
@tin2001 Жыл бұрын
You don't have to turn it off, but you do need to be aware that other drivers may not understand the intent to come over 3 lanes at once. Also, if the lane isn't empty when you start the move, you can't just assume it will be by the time you get there. That clown must be blind.
@rubinmike-litt1068 Жыл бұрын
@@tin2001 That is why you are meant to turn it off after changing 1 lane. Leaving it on just means you are stupid and probably ready to drive a volvo or camry, in the right lane, well below the speed limit, with your blinker on for several km's and then swerve last minute to get to your exit, probably causing a collision which you aren't involved in, therefore leaving victims when it is all your fault..... at what point in any of these vids would you assume it is ok to just change 3 lanes at once?

There is no rule that says you must turn it off and on again. There is also no rule that says you can only change lanes individually. The rules actually state simply that you must give way when changing lanes and turn your indicator off when the manoeuvre is completed
