SwapHelper is some proud stuff man, I wanted to do this swap until I priced them out, truck is worth the effort sure, but I’m a single Father that cannot justify it for aesthetics. Great series nonetheless, amazing job Nick! I’ll just be dealing with my bland 99 interior.
@maximarolda3 жыл бұрын
Good job Nick. It is good when you are joining so many wires to do it at different lengths so in that way you don’t have all the connections at the same position in the wire harness and makes it a lot slimmer and tidy.

Coming along nice nick. Looks good, maybe you and zack will want to tag-team mine for me once swap helper releases the module for the 05 trucks. You'd just have to bring any specialty tools you want down here to florida on "vacation", I have the hand/air/electric tools covered. Lol Btw, that black box you had at 16:45 ish is your turn signal flasher relay box.

Simply Awesome Nick! It's gonna look so cool with the new dash and interior. If you have to do splices outside of the truck, or in a high vibration area, make sure and use Environmental Crimp Splices. Because they are crimped and have the added seal they are highly vibration and waterproof. Looking fwd to seeing up and running, and that big grin on your face for a job well done. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Looks like that Swap Helper controller that you put on top of the cluster is 3D printed. Hopefully they made it out of ABS or something more resistant to heat. If they printed it with PLA it will melt if it nears 100 degrees.
@SwapHelper3 жыл бұрын
It is printed out of a material that is good to around 100° c, or 212 Fahrenheit. We have products that we run under hood that are printed in materials that are good to over 230° F.

You've done a killer job but the fact that swap helper charges 750 for that cluster helper and they sent you a backwards wiring diagram that's rediculous, if they're gonna charge that much then they should just make it plug and play, good catch on your part though bud.
@Adman-p4j3 жыл бұрын

@FixItNick3 жыл бұрын

@f25352 жыл бұрын
The reason the Ford wiring diagram was backwards is because you were looking "down" the wire at the end of the plug. If you look from the back of the plug, as you would hold it assembling/inserting wires, it should be correct. From the end creates an upside down and backwards situation. I have truly enjoyed these videos, thank you for taking the time to make them.

Well, you got to say one thing. The design and construction of that dash frame is "complicated". I dont think it would even be possible without 3D modeling and dimensioning. Can you imagine having to build the jig just for that one part. Wow !!

for your plug that was backwards - if that was me, I'd be SOL as I'm color blind. I've done a lot of wiring but I rely on the pins and numbers and my wife and kid to help me with some colors, but if the print out is wrong I'd be screwed!
