Like Mark, I am a Canadian. It gives me such pleasure to know more about Mark and understand his story. I have studied and worked in Japanese for over 30 years and I know that it is almost impossible for a foreigner to gain fluency close to a Japanese or Chinese person without being raised there as a child. Mark becoming a famous comedian in China even takes it to a whole new level. He is an absolutely amazing individual. Thanks for being you, Mark.

Hey, I am a Canadian Chinese originally from China. I feel I can offer opinion that there is currently no other Canadian who can relate to Chinese so well and understand the recent development of the country. The guy is multitallented, not just in language skills. Truly, a person well versed in both Chinese and north American cultures.

I have so much respect and admiration for this guy! I grew up in Beijing and have spent the last 36 years in NYC, exactly the same number of years he has spent in China. My aspiration happens to coincide with his as well, ie, to be a cultural bridge between East and West. People here tell me that my English is almost as good as a native speaker's. But I am way below Mark (Dashan) considering how well he speaks Chinese and how deeply he understands Chinese culture. I actually wrote a traditional style poem in Chinese upon watching his latest skits: 大山 帅小伙来西, 说学上品级。 姜昆常赞叹, 马季也称奇。 催泪楚辞动, 撩心徐韵迷。 须白谁道老, 惊看入云霓。

Da Shan, you have been a great Canadian Comedian in China. Now both countries need to to thaw the ice between our two countries. Canada arrested Meng Wan Zhou authorized by Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada. China arrest of two Canadians in response and caused subsequent boycotts of many Canadian exports, putting businesses in troubles. Can you help out in making peace between China and Canada. Please remember that in Canada, the son usually did the opposite of father. Senior Trudeau went to China in 1969 to invite Moe Ze Dong to join the United Nation against the wishes of all western leaders, especially US President. His son destroyed what his father did but Chinese sons always follow and did what their fathers did. Cultural differences. Can you please do a Comedian piece to restore goodwill. You can do it in a humorous way.

Foreigners are more accepted in China than Chinese in foreign countries in terms of media exposure. We often see foreign men and women on Chinese TV programs and even in these marriage matching shows. You can find all kinds of foreign KZbinrs reporting the good and the bad about China while in EUROPE and the USA, the narrative in traditional media about China is relatively less diverse. It is due to the ideological campaign in western media which leads to the massive production of biased news on China, some of them report selectively, part of the truth, some of them tell nothing but the opposite of the truth? One should ask why it is so biased? For what purpose they keep doing it? Instead of believing whatever the right or the left has to say about China.
