Dashcam Helps Police Track Down Offenders Heavy Penalty

A dashcam video sent to me by one of the subscribers has helped police recover more than 56,000rs traffic violation penalty when the dashcam owner caught a motorist riding in the wrong way with no helmet and defective number plate. The dashcam video was uploaded on X and Bangalore Traffic Police was tagged in the post. The traffic police reviewed the Dashcam footage and tracked down the culprit within a day. His driver's license is being recommended for suspension and an FIR is registered. This proves that dashcam can help track down offendors and one must have dashcam installed in their car.

This is the main reason for which I am planning to get a dash camera as well. Of course, I may be reported by others too for mistakes I make. I will pay the price for that, and try to avoid it in future. But, people who purposely break obvious rules are horrible, especially when it comes to safety. My main pet peeve is illegal blue and red blining lights that make it look like an emergency services vehicle.

A lane is a lane when it has lane markings. If there are no markings on the road, then it is a single lane road. Slow moving vehicles (any thing that is moving slow be it bus, car, truck, bike) should be on the left side while the right side is for fast moving vehicles or for overtaking. Lane sharing (driving alongside another vehicle in the same lane) is equally dangerous. Though the car driver is reckless in the video, the municipal corporation is equally responsible for no lane markings on the road.

Various government supported and private NGOs. I have one more idea make their payment done based on number of people they report of traffic violations. For example if I am caught on camera making traffic violation capture my number plate from video or pic, check my RC, get user details linked to that RC and cut penalty money directly from my bank account. Pay some percentage of that penalty to the violation reporting person.
