Modern car indicators clearly are designed by people who don't use them... Almost none are visible from the side. Some are almost invisible from behind, and a few even manage to make the front ones difficult by distracting you with the headlight (actually just the daytime running light) not working on that side when they rig them to turn off with the indicator on.
