That does look like a step up from most ATC programs. I am a current Heathrow pilot and it sounds pretty close to reality. However you won’t hear any say Palma Delivery Tower…it’s either delivery or ground or tower etc. a very minor point. Your level of ATC is pretty good, so well done. Regarding clearance I would normally just request ‘clearance’ rather than ‘IFR Clearance’. 142.9 must be a typo. That’s not a valid frequency. The max is 136.9xx (I think). Oh, and I bought Derail Valley because of you! Good fun

I also picked up on 142.9. I looked it up in Jeppesen and it is a military frequency. I never knew that the military had VHF allocated frequencies outside the normal range. Learn something new every day!

@9:12 BeyondATS answered correctly by stating "Negative". It wasn't not understanding you, but you said "Runway two four" instead of "Runway two four RIGHT". Very impressed by this; great video as always!

That was pretty cool when you got handed over to Heathrow and you forgot to tell the controller you had Information Juliet and the controller wanted you to confirm that you indeed got Information Juliet, which you confirmed and she was cool with that. LOL But it really looks like a game changer. Even if you don't speak into it, it's kind of like having a co-pilot operating the radio stack for you while you control the airplane, as is the case in real life in some instances.

Not many people realize but having the Basic International accents forces Basic voices to be used rather than the premium voices selected.

Yep that's where Squirrel got it wrong. That forces the basic intl accents to be used with the basic voice sets, some which are hard to understand. So if you turn that off, it will only use basic English based voice sets. Of course if you use premium from the drop-down menu none of that matters afaik.

@@boudewijnzwaal8186 It is extremely subjective tbh. I find them good/acceptable but indeed there are some which have a weird pronunciation of numbers or certain words like QNH or Winds. But as i said you can disable international based accents and it will use only English based ones with softer accents instead of those heavy. Bluntly put you will have less variation but you'll understand them easily.

well beyond atc will cost you 30 euro at least and the fenix will cost you 60 euro and then navigraph subscription 10-20 euro can't remember exactly but you can get the flybywire A320 for free which is more than enough to most people wanting to experience more detailed planes :)

Hmm... no transition on clearance, no altitude. Or climb via, no departure freq. IFR rated rw pilot here. CRAFT? Anyways probably a decent option for hobbyists but not rw pilots. Recommend Vatsim or Pilotedge or just create accurate atc transcripts by listening to live atc and use text to voice app.

What's funny is that about 18 months ago, when everyone was getting into talking AI possibilities I said this was obvious to me to be something that would revolutionize ATC and literally people all said that was ludicrous -- that AI doesn't work in a way that would allow for this. Cost is fantastic at 5,000 characters per flight. HOWEVER, once traffic starts getting interaction, those points are going to disappear FAR faster. Still likely a good deal, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more like 50,000 per flight. It'll be less of count once airborne, but on the ground is going to be hefty.

The MSFS2020 ATC is terrible, even compared to FSX. At least that one was able to vector you to runways instead of only using nav points. I feel like this is worth getting just for that.

Sounds like a nice scam $30 usd for all the features and a "free" 50,000 characters about 30 mins of speech then $10 for an extra 250,000 characters 15-20 flights for serious msfs players you better be rich

I only use the basic voices which are good - I'll never have the need to use the premium ones. I've only paid $30 and will never have to pay a cent more for the lifetime of the product - it's not a scam at all, just a choice.

not a scam at all. They give you the Basic voice for free so you never have to spend another dime. you only have to pay extra if you feel you can't live without the premium. i think what they did with their cost structure is very fair (originally it was going to be $60 and two tiers of paid voice characters).

Free (well, aside from the $30 for the program) and then premium voices which are completely optional and not necessary for the rest of the program to function. It's about $10ish a month for those premium voices.
