The idea of a littler jet (f16) come to the USA after seeing Israeli mirage absolutely obliterated MIG in war against Arabs nations.

The mirage really is a very capable aircraft
@LOLOVAL-os3pqАй бұрын
it does not change the fact that the Mirage 2000 is an aircraft that exceeds 2700 km/h (more than mach 2.2) and that it certainly remains despite its age one of the most dangerous in the world, 2 Greek Mirages met 2 Turkish F16s, we agree that they are almost identical aircraft, the first F16 was shot down, killing one of the two men, and the second had to flee! the Mirage is powerful, very maneuverable, very efficient, very reliable, and in performance, better than the F16 or the Gripen! in almost all areas!! but hey, the Rafale is even more efficient, the Rafale F5 will be out of reach of any other aircraft, even for an F35!! not a question of speed, power, but the new generation RBE2 XG radar will detect even F35s, or small drones, and it will be escorted by several drones which will also carry weapons!! like bombs or missiles like the MICA NG!

5:20 For maneuverability the center of mass should actually be BEHIND the center of pressure to make an aicraft longitudinally unstable

Good Job! A few sound issues in editing, but good content. Btw, a slight error. Mirage 2000-5 air to air is still in active service, though it will soon be sent to Ukraine, modified to perform air to ground as well. Mirage 2000 D air to ground version will remain in service until 2035. It is currently under an improvement program, to improve air to air self defense capabilities, with mica IR. The mirage 2000 D has some capabilities that where only seen on a Tornado, flying 30m high at Mach 1.5. Difficult to detect early, difficult to engage.

Thank you very much sir, I try to improve every video so thank you very much 🫡

No, Mirage 2000D can't reach M1.5 at 100ft/ 30m. The VNE is 750kt CAS, tested to 800kt CAS. To reach M1.4 (because of fixed air intake contrary to air defense variant with movable shock cones) it needs to climb.

It's not the 2000-5 for Ukraine
@7up-dp1kkАй бұрын
@Cedric At first, it was the 2000-D, but finally it is a 2000-5 that they are removing from th cigogne squadron. They are currently enabled by Dassault to shoot the Apache, the AASM and perhaps the Exocet, like the Greek 2000-5. We will see what they can do in Ukraine.
@JoJo-vm8vkАй бұрын
@@7up-dp1kk Greek Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 don't carry AM39 Exocet. It was Mirage 2000 EGM with RDM radar and now Rafale. 😉

Relaxed stability is the opposite. The centre of mass is behind the centre of lift. That makes it unstable in the pitch axis.

Th french dropped the Mirage g because it was too expensive, the 2000 smaller and simpler a meant more aicrafts in the end for the same budget

Same for the Mirage 4000, which could have been some kind of French F-15.

The Mirage is still a great fighter but technologically outdated compared to the Dassault Rafale, its descendant...
@engineeringinsights1Ай бұрын
Well yes it is outdated for todays modern aviation, but it indeed was one of the most advanced of it's time 😅

@daniellefevre2348 The Mirage 2000s have not yet ben withdrawn from sevice, far from it! The Mrage 2000-5Fs, have been retrofitted and remain good interceptors. They are gradually being replaced in Fighter Squadrons by Rales 4.1s, which are formidable, pilot-friendly omnirole jet fighters, together with F-22 Raptors and F-15 Strike Eagles (forget Typhoons and Grippens). But Dassault is literally overwhelmed with orders for Rafales from our Air Force, our Navy and, last but not least, our export customers. Rafale production has nevertheless doubled in five years. An undisclosed number of Mirage 2000-5UAs in open source, equipped with air-to- ground capabilities similar to those of the 2000-9s sold for export, are intended for Ukraine. They're similar to single-reactor Rafales in many ways. An unspecified number of young Ukrainian junior pilots have been training at the Mérignac base, near Bordeaux, since last spring. The same goes for technicians and logisticians. However smart, brave, motivated and and talented our Ukranian friends and de facto allies may be, fighter pilots cannot be trained in a few months anymore, unfortunately. We're no longer in the 1940s... The most realistic forecasts estimate their return to Ukraine around mid-2025. Not before, if we want to be professional, effective and realistic... and give these boys the means to make a significant difference together with a minimum attrition rate.Being brave ain't be enough. So it goes... Slava Ukraïni! Heroyam Slava! The twin-seater Mirage 2000D, wchich is still in service in the French Air Force either, has also recently been retrofitted with a new glass cockpit for the pilot and weapons officer (the aircraft can also be flown from the back seat, if necessary) and an improved Thales radar. Specializing in air-to- ground missions at low altitude, it can carry a wide variety of laser-guided bombs, multi-purpose misiles (the Scalp-EG stealth cruise missile: EG meaning Emploi Général = General Purpose), for example. But the most important factor is the expertise of these fighter-bombers' crews. These aircraft beeing-air-to-ground strikers, they can concentrate on mission preparation, joint missions with NATO interceptors (Mirage 2000-5Fs, Rafales, F-16s, Typhoons, F-15s, F-18s). Surprisingly, not being multirole fighters give upgraded Mirage 2000Ds a unique role within the French Air Force and therefore within NATO... Sooner or later in Ukraine? Personnally, I wouldn't be surprised! 😏
