Incredible visuals and editing as always, a pure delight for the behold :) I'm not sure how any conclusion apart from the one you have drawn can even hold any water. As soon as the foretellers arrive in Daybreak Town's tower, the foretellers even discuss these exact events. Lauriam's line in particular should remove all doubt, unless the new Union Leaders are somehow being fooled here: KHUx [Devourer of Nightmares] Ephemer: Then it’s settled. Oh, and to avoid any confusion or chaos, let’s not say a word about the foretellers to anyone just yet. Lauriam: That’s wise. As planned, all the Keyblade wielders are undergoing their training again. It may be a good time to discuss the issue when that’s over with.

I LOVED hearing the ramping up between the different "Cavern of Remembrance" versions, slowly evolving the track up to the "complete" 2.5 version during the summary page!! All these custom assets and animations (the saccades and blinking of the Skuld&Ephemer artwork) made _my_ eyes widen. Such a cool concept for this video to have it be like accessing the Master's computer

I finished the video earlier but I've watched it twice and realized I forgot to leave my thoughts! - I absolutely love the way the Cavern of Remembrance theme was used throughout the video transitioning between the KH2 and KH3 ReMIND versions - Every cutscene being sourced in the window box text is really cool, your graphics never miss - I also appreciate when you label things as hypothetical, comment, etc. It really helps! - CANNOT WAIT FOR THE PODCAST!! - I've always wondered about daybreak town's events repeating because of Ephemer's line that you mentioned but knowing that it's a bit more on the nose in the JP version of the game makes me feel relief - The glitches were something I was initially confused about, so this helped! 10/10

So glad to see you back. Been a fan of KH since KH1 dropped all those years ago. All I'll say is this: if all of this really has been Nomura and/or Masaru Oka's intentions for the story of KH/KHX, then I'm glad they have a third person on board now (Akiko Ishibashi). Following the X story the last 10 years has been very frustrating for me, and maybe I'm not big-brained for not understanding it, but I'm so thankful for fans such as yourself for putting in so much effort into helping the community piece together the lore and make sense of it all. My gripe is, I truly feel it shouldn't have to be this way. Having to rely on videos such as these is a very real fault on the writers' part, in my opinion. I'm worried that, when KH4 rolls around, I will be expected to know and understand all of these complicated concepts the X saga introduced, all while mixing together the other cans of worms involving Yozora, the Nameless Star, "Unreality", and Missing Link. At least to me, the story has become so convoluted that I'm hoping a third writer can serve to either mediate the ideas being tossed around by the other two, or at least provide a method of communicating those ideas in a simpler way for the players. Mini-rant done, sorry if this comment seems inappropriate. I always look forward to your videos, because they're and so eye-opening, but this one definitely sparked these thoughts I've held on to for a while.

the idea that the keyblade war from KHUX is a flasback and not part of the story repeat is pretty much confirmed by the game; that's why those quests were put under event and not story quests

I hope you will discuss worldlines soon as it really bothers me how a lot of fans think KH3 took place in another wordline after the keyblade graveyard incident, the Singularity Sora created is dispelled once he saves his friends' hearts and re-starts from when they first lost their battle. I'm gonna be slurpin on Shedding Starlight with a soup spoon... just wanna point that out right off the bat. Like, fuck, I'm genuinely really intrigued and excited about that! So Mel, naturally your use of colours, graphic transitions and sound effects do wonders for the pacing. Everything is compiled so eloquently. I imagine setting out to make the computer desktop theme would force most people to be overtly flashy or "sci-fi", but this just feels warm on the eyes and ears. It flows so seamlessly to the point where they don't even FEEL like transitions, just a tightly knit package (even though the folder clicking idea is YES). Everything is congruent and visually compelling, but it's laid out in such a way that every word and every graphic is always at the front of my mind; nothing really needs to be overly digested, paused or questioned to nauseum, so it's only a testament to your script writing, commentary skills, expression and research. It's not just "good", but it strikes a balance between artistically stimulating but also EASY! Spinning those plates together without going down a rabbit hole of caveats or playing devil's advocate every 5 seconds in the attempt to circumvent those UMM ACTUALLY comments ain't a simple thing to accomplish. Refreshing. No bullshit, just "Here it is, here's why it is the way that it is, here are the receipts, now eat your damn feast". Even though I was always under the impression that UXs real Daybreak Town glitching was due to the projection of the data version, but I never once caught on to the Twilight Town tidbit from KH2! It just adds so much credence to that. I wonder if that kind of technology will overlap in the future? I keep forgetting how Twilight Town's basement and use of the Datascape could give us a peak into so much, from Daybreak Town and Scala's history to even how other worldlines work. I still personally believe that there is some sort of convergence between realities happening with the Datascape. I wanna take a moment to appreciate talking about Luxu's comment about data Daybreak Town not just being a regular Datascape world, but actually an entirely other worldline with no Keyblade war. It seems the ultimate wrench in the works of a lot of KH fan's minds are between those of us who are willing to accept Luxu's reports as vital pieces of information as opposed to those who would rather side with the notion that they are "lies"(?), retcons or just wrong. Also, coming off of the honeymoon phase of my latest video, your Brain imposter scares me a little more each day. That kid scares me I don't like it. idk something is so creepy about another version of you running around with higher knowledge and then just vanishes?? fuck these kids tbh

Basically, KHX Daybreak Town and KHUX Daybreak Town is basically another rehash of Twilight Town and the Simulated Twilight Town. From what I understand, the simulated Daybreak Town is a cage for the 5 remaining Darkness and The Dandelions are bait for the 5 Darkness and the only reason why Keyblade War didn't happen there is to mark the simulation as a real world filled with real people to the 5 Darkness so they will come over. The Dandelions are also not supposed to escape Digital Daybreak Town but someone diverted the plan, causing the 5 new Union leaders to escape, which makes it not a part of M.o.M's plan, thus what Luxu calls a virus. What has yet to be answered is who's the virus, is it Brain, Luxu, or the Darkness possessing Ventus?

As much as I love and adore UX and its story, there are multiple places where things can unfortunately get a bit confusing ;O; So these explanations really help with understanding the exact pieces of lore + offer a new angle to things I hadn't considered before! I wonder if the bit about "memories VS projection" will be more fully addressed in Missing Link, with the idea of unreality or such. Nomura needs to reel in the number states of being imo. Realms of Light/Darkness/Between/Data/Winnie the Pooh's book/Unreality/Dreams Also are you saying that the Kh: unchained version of the universe is literally an AR layer on top of the normal, standard one world with basically chatgpt filling in all the characters who died in the war? Splendid video as always. So. Enchanted Dominion and Castle of Dreams were only put in the Data-World as Darkness shows us. And supposedly Strelitzia’s murder happens during the real events. However, Strelitzia’s flashbacks of Player shows that she encountered them in Castle of Dreams. What do you make of this?

Oh wow you're right, she's definitely trying on the glass slipper when Player walks by! As of RIGHT NOW, I personally think it's just a mistake. However, I'm overall open minded to the idea that more projections existed during the time of X then was being let on! I've always thought the theory that Hollow Bastion was a secret projection during X (since it shows up in the Book of Prophecies in the beginning of X) to be a fun one. And there's Traverse Town art among the many map screenshots in the control room. As for the other possibility that Strelitzia died the war in the data worlds, I'm more hesitant to believe, since Lauriam looked for her everywhere, and the time of her death (that we know it to be, at least) lines up with Ventus, Gula with Skuld and Player, and Ava with Luxu too well.

@@TheSecretReports Ohh yeah! There is the certain implication that Radiant Garden was left out. Since 6 worlds do contain princesses but the 7th was left out so Maleficent wouldn’t know how that story plays out. Which is wierd because it could refer to Olympus as the only world that doesn’t follow it’s movie structure- and despite not having a Princess, Kairi is definitely meant to be a representation of Megara. Even more so interesting that with Radiant Garden having so much interference- if it had play out as an isolated world without alien intervention, then how would Kairi have grown up? Lea, Isa, and the Scientists. All of it would be very different. I have been also looking at the mismatch with Strelitzia here as a mistake, but honest some things are wayyyy too uncanny for mistakes like her trying on the Glass Slipper to just… slip through. I think we’re def on the same page about it. My only thought is that UX is the 3rd repeat instead of a 2nd. I’m not sure entirely but the idea jives with how the “real” Daybreak Town seemed to also have a glitching anomaly as it was being torn asunder.

I can't say any of it is simple, but the horror implications and technical connections of this whole part of Union are somehow still Elegant to me How long could you live in a 'nearly-perfect', holographic double of your world before you realized something was wrong? And, of course the world of 'Wreck-It Ralph', being a world about the connection between the digitally-created world and the real one, would be the potential escape from the data Daybreak Town to the real one. But what would happen?- You need certain components to go forward in time. Would the Dandelions trying to escape thru Wrech-It Ralph world simply not work? Or, does this imply somewhere out in The Age of Fairytales is a fairytale that starts "Once upon a time in Los Aburridos, California..."???

Rewatching, Great vid as always! Big question about the X timeline though. Player gets Keyblade 2 years pass… (per Strelitzia flashback) Keyblade War then X is repeated and Union X occurs. Do at least another 2 years pass as the recording plays? Do the Dandelions experience those 2 years as well? How do the Dandelions age? If they forgot all of X and relived it at the same rate, wouldn’t they have seemingly aged 2 years instantly as of their first day in the new worldline? Alternatively, would they wake up 2 years younger than they were at the time of the Keyblade War to account for this? Master of Masters gives Foretellers their roles five years prior. Is this the same year Player received the Keyblade? If so, is it confirmed that the new events of KHUX take place over the course of a year? To give an example of how my brain is picturing the aging: Ventus is 16 in BBS (per Nomura) Ventus is 12 when given to Eraqus (per BBS’s ‘4 years prior’) Ventus is 11 when found by Xehanort (per DR placing it 1 year before bbs flashbacks) *Ventus is 11 in Union X* *Ventus is physically 10 in UX Year 2* *Ventus is physically 9 in UX Year 1* *Ventus is 10 in X Year 2* *Ventus is 9 in X Year 1* Is this a correct way to understand it? I’ve never heard anyone discuss it but it seems like a major point to me. Can you help me understand it?

I know I'm gonna state the obvious but I really like these videos not only because every topic is thorougly resourced but cause they are so satisfying to watch! Really excited for your future projects! Talking about the topics of this video... I'm really sorry for the inevitable long ass comment: 1) I get the reasoning on why Keyblade Graveyard should be a data world (after all Re:Mind confirms that Scala IS Daybreak Town and Dark Road confirms KG is not in Scala but another world itself), but to me something is off. I mean, what was the point on creating that specific world? No one goes there to collect Lux. Was it recreated intentionally to trick Union Leaders in thinking they were "free" to leave the datascape when in reality they were always in the data one (as discussed in "The Cause of it All" cutscene)? If Keyblade Graveyard was a digital copy, shouldn't they know it once tampering in the Control Room? That would be enough for Brain to realize that they were tricked, but he starts to think the Dandelions are trapped only after the appearance of the glitches. To further my point, I wanted to add that, if I'm not wrong, there's not a monitor showing Keyblade Graveyard in Control Room but to be honest it doesn't mean anything: we don't see every monitor and, of course, if it was a secret it wouldn't be shown because the Master knew that the Union Leaders, the same guys that had to be tricked, would have access to the Control Room. To sum it up: it's hard for me to believe that MoM recreated in an accessible part of the datascape the KG, as we see the Union Leaders meeting there, when the whole point of Unchained X was creating a "worldline" (your reasoning on this is so on point, never thought about that) where the war never happened. Isn't it possible (and easier) that the Kayblade Graveyard was severed from Daybreak Town after the destruction of the city in the ending of UX? 2) I never thougt about the possibility of data world appearing outside. We have always seen that to materialize/digitize something, it needs to be hit by those "data-lasers" (like the DiZ's Encoder ray that tried to digitize Xemnas' KH, or the ray you touch to travel from Data/Real Twilight Town in the mansion, or the machine/factory in Hollow Bastion that makes Sora and the Heartless travel in/out Space Paranoids). So when you say that data worlds can be projected outside the datascape overlapping the real place I don't get why Brain thought that the Dandelions needed to access Disney worlds traveling from Daybreak Town to Data Daybreak Town to the world of choice (but of course it could be a wrong idea because they always were in the digital one), or how DiZ could pull up something like that with Twilight Town. On this topic I'm really not so sure, but I can't say you're wrong cause I can't explain what your theory brilliantly can with that scene in KH2 that never made any sense where Chip could see Data Twilight Town with bare eyes. It could even explain what's happening on Toy Box with all that "the world is split in two". 3) I'm so happy you touched the subject on Lauriam talking about data of people and Shift Pride: to me, it's the thing the confused me the most in Union X ending. In the video that they didn't know talking with data recreated people could be a choice and that Lauriam was the most confused about this in the ending because he was not present during the meeting about Shift Pride. It makes a lot of sense if Imposter Brain really "coded" alone Shift Pride (I really hope they will ever come back on fake Brain, maybe confirming it was the personification of the Datascape like Data Riku in Re:coded but I fear we will never see of this thing again in the future...). What puzzles me is that the whole point of recreated data people to me came directly from Lauriam: in Quest 846 (Shift Pride meeting) Ephermer tells the others that the idea came from Lauriam himself and then we see a flashback where Lauriam says "Once the Keyblade War ended, the world were recreated in data with people in them. I'm looking for someone who was supposed to have becamo a Dandelion but I haven't seen them anywhere. So I thougt I'd search the data.". In the ending of UX Lauriam says: "I thought this place was just a copy of the world, not its people. Besides, if everyone's data was brought over, shouldn't there be versions of us too?". So Lauriam already knew about recreated data people BEFORE Shift Pride and then he suddenly don't. In other words: "Lauriam" suggest Ephemer that there are recreated data people; Ephemer talks about with the leaders in the meeting (without Lauriam) and "Fake Brain" goes all "Wow! Great idea Ephemer! Never thought about that!". Then Lauriam shows up and doesn't know anything about it. Isn' it... weird? So I'm starting to think... if really there was someone/something that impersonated Brain... What if they impersonated Lauriam too in the scene giving Ephemer the idea of Shift Pride?

Hi Sakito! These are some really great interesting thoughts! 1 a) With you asking what was the point of creating the Keyblade Graveyard as a data world: One subject I’d like to discuss in X-Position is the relationship with the Master of Masters and Nightmare Chirithy. In the original X when Player is knocked out by Aced after their fight (the UX repeat diverges before this), Player gets a dream of KH3’s Keyblade War (cutscene: A Vision). N. Chirithy tried to do *something* to Player earlier (cutscene: The Dream), so I wonder if it was N. Chirithy who gave Player this dream, and was able to do so because of the Master. N. Chirithy later mentions the Master meant for it to be created (cutscene: Nightmares Projected). If the MoM was able to “share” this vision of the future Graveyard with N. Chirithy, maybe that’s somehow connected to this data projection of the Graveyard ? I don’t know how or why those two things would be connected yet, but as for now, I’m getting an inkling that they could be. 1 b) As for why the Graveyard’s not visible on the monitors, I have a suspicion about this too, but unfortunately it’s involved with the Impostor Brain theory and that’s still not confirmed haha. But when Brain, Ephemer, and Skuld are interrogating Ven on the hill, at one point Ven talks about how Ava told Ven to join the other Union Leaders after everything was over. And Brain goes “Yeah I remember you saying that when we first met.” BUT, Brain wasn’t there yet at the Graveyard when Ventus said that- it was only Ven, Ephemer, and Skuld at that point. So I’m wondering if maybe while the impostor Brain was walking around, making his way to the Graveyard, the real Brain was always in the Control Room eavesdropping (because according to the theory, that’s where we see the real Brain for the first time, in The Cause of it All). This would imply that the Graveyard IS being monitored in the control room after all. But alas, it’s all conjecture 😩 There’s also still the mystery of why Brain didn’t catch on to how they were *always* in the data world, but I wonder if the impostor Brain just straight up fed him lies/false information? 2) Yeah it’s definitely weird to think about data being able to be tangible in the real world after all the scanning/digitizing we’ve seen. The only other examples I can think of when it comes to data having a tangible form are the various objects from data Twilight Town that made it out into the real world: Olette’s money bag she made herself, the photo of the gang with Roxas, and the blue marble from the trophy. They’re objects that characters were able to touch and hold, even though they’re technically data. And there’s also Coded, where Mickey and the others were brought into the data of Jiminy’s Journal without realizing it. Maybe the Dandelions ending up in the data worlds without realizing is the culmination of these types of digital phenomena ? 3) Wow that’s actually… a REALLY good point!!! I wonder if the real Lauriam would have went to that Shift Pride meeting, if he would have been like “Uhhhh Ephemer? I never said that… I never even knew about the data…..” It would also explain where this impostor Brain went! If this impostor was trying to find Strelitzia’s data, they could have disguised themself as Lauriam to make it less weird that they’re looking for her. And at the meeting, this same impostor could have purposely said “Well, Lauriam said it was a personal matter, so let’s leave it alone.” to prevent the Union Leaders from investigating too much! It even might connect back to Elrena’s Chirithy spotting a black coat with what looked to be Stretlizia’s data! It might be that SAME impostor who was Lauriam! They might realize now that all the Union Leaders are together, so disguising as one of them is too obvious or risky. Ugh this is such a gooood point you made. Is it OK if I bring it up in my future video revisiting this impostor theory ? I’ll definitely credit you! It probably won’t be the NEXT video I make, but still an inevitable one for X-Position.

@@TheSecretReports When I post something here it's usually after giving it some extra thought 'cause for me, this is one of the few, if not the only, place to talk seriously about KH, so feel free to use anything you find interesting! And if you want to credit me in the future, it would be great 😄 But please don't feel forced, knowing that I'm contributing a little bit to the channel is enough, really! Back to your points, what you say about the MoM and the Nightmare Chirithy is interesting, I need to research more on that. But the point that is convincing me is that it could explain why Brain knew what Ventus said in the Keyblade Graveyard, if there really is an Impostor Union Leader... I don't particularly like to resort to a fake Lauriam to explain those scenes, given how, as you said, the fake Brain is all but confirmed. IF it is true, that would make the most sense... thing is, I find so hard beliving the series would go back to a blink-and-miss detail of a dead mobile game. But there are a lot of other things that instead I think will be addressed, like the nature of Game Central Station, given its hinted connection to the "fictional world"/Unreality, so maybe going back to some Union X plot point is really planned. Lastly, on data worlds, I was probably wrong in thinking that only "data-rays" (and similar energy) can materialize/digitize things. Of course Riku could have used the computer in the Old Mansion to enter/exit data Twilight Town (and with him the picture, the munny bag and the marble) but we know that Dark Corridors can be opened to/in a Data World (we used them to reach The World that Never Was) and Maleficent used one to meet Pete in the Datascape. So it would be possible to hipotetically bring a digital object outside a Data World just using a Corridor? Would it help to explain in some way the two Twilight Town overlapping in KH2? Probably not, so the external data-projection remains the safest bet.

The simplest answer really is because everyone outside of Japan didn't officially get Chi. So Unchained X was just for our benefit. 😂 Everything else is just usual Nomura madness trying to make a story out of it like he did with Mickey not having clothes. 🤣 But I'll admit, that's what makes kh a funny thing to watch lol.

I agree! I think many fans are aware of X and UX's situations (like how X was exclusive to Japan, etc), but it's going to be tough for fans who only learn about these games after they're completely offline. I hope Square comes up with a less confusing way to delivery X+UX's ENTIRE story.
