Basically, KHX Daybreak Town and KHUX Daybreak Town is basically another rehash of Twilight Town and the Simulated Twilight Town. From what I understand, the simulated Daybreak Town is a cage for the 5 remaining Darkness and The Dandelions are bait for the 5 Darkness and the only reason why Keyblade War didn't happen there is to mark the simulation as a real world filled with real people to the 5 Darkness so they will come over. The Dandelions are also not supposed to escape Digital Daybreak Town but someone diverted the plan, causing the 5 new Union leaders to escape, which makes it not a part of M.o.M's plan, thus what Luxu calls a virus. What has yet to be answered is who's the virus, is it Brain, Luxu, or the Darkness possessing Ventus?

I think the Current Realm of Darkness is the Old World since the Lanes inbetween in 3 feels like an underwater Space and the World/regions Sepperated off the Old World to get away from the Darkness.

I'm pretty sure Olympus's underworld is specifically in charge of more then just there small world mabey not absolutely everything but it's alluded to that it's at least also uncharged of ff charecters and other non disney charecters like the kh originals. If we get something else underworld related like coco. I don't think it'll be in charge of those but untill stated otherwise it's safe to assume its the primary afterlife location.

Lore question: How do you explain the whole London being in multiple world aspect? We know Alice, Wendy, and Jane all came from London; how is this true? Could it be possible that they come from a London before the worlds split or something?

If Ava can be disguised as a union leader. Wouldn't it make sense if she disguised as Luxu in the Union x when he was talking to Brain in the ark chamber? It could make sense. Since he did say if Brain can be at two places at once. But then where did he get the box. Luxu did say he lost track of it but knows it hidden. Guess we have to wait until Missing Link is out.

Rewatching, Great vid as always! Big question about the X timeline though. Player gets Keyblade 2 years pass… (per Strelitzia flashback) Keyblade War then X is repeated and Union X occurs. Do at least another 2 years pass as the recording plays? Do the Dandelions experience those 2 years as well? How do the Dandelions age? If they forgot all of X and relived it at the same rate, wouldn’t they have seemingly aged 2 years instantly as of their first day in the new worldline? Alternatively, would they wake up 2 years younger than they were at the time of the Keyblade War to account for this? Master of Masters gives Foretellers their roles five years prior. Is this the same year Player received the Keyblade? If so, is it confirmed that the new events of KHUX take place over the course of a year? To give an example of how my brain is picturing the aging: Ventus is 16 in BBS (per Nomura) Ventus is 12 when given to Eraqus (per BBS’s ‘4 years prior’) Ventus is 11 when found by Xehanort (per DR placing it 1 year before bbs flashbacks) *Ventus is 11 in Union X* *Ventus is physically 10 in UX Year 2* *Ventus is physically 9 in UX Year 1* *Ventus is 10 in X Year 2* *Ventus is 9 in X Year 1* Is this a correct way to understand it? No one wanna talk about how Roxas giving Sora his body back doesn't necessarily mean that he ever became recompleted. Why do you think he has Rage Mode/Anti-form? After Sora dies, and is sent to the Final World, he should recomplete in Hollow Bastion in the bad timeline.

the idea that the keyblade war from KHUX is a flasback and not part of the story repeat is pretty much confirmed by the game; that's why those quests were put under event and not story quests

The visuals of that video are absolutely amazing, congratulations! However, I must admit that, in my mind, this only cemented how big of a nonsensical mess Kingdom Hearts Union X is 😅 Because as you point out, it is directly stated that the events of KHX were copied and replayed (Aladdin's world being continued in UX also supports that). However, it is also directly stated that the Five have never met or heard of digital copies of themselves in this new world despite Lauriam having actively looked for them and Player being present in the room with them at this very point in time, so either the Five are particularly dumb, or this story makes no sense. Also, if the events of KHX were replayed, then Lauriam wouldn't say he hasn't seen his sister since before they arrived in the new world, right? He would at least have been able to meet her data copy before realising "oopsie she's gone again". The obvious answer here is that Nomura completely changed his plans for UX around the time of the Shift Pride cutscene and created a big old inconsistency, as he sometimes does, but I guess an alternative would be that Ava was only talking about the Disney world? Maybe? I also don't like the idea of KHX's story being replayed in data because if you take that as true, then we have a massive chronology issue: Strelitzia is said to have been a Keyblade wielder for 2 years before she died, so it's safe to assume KHX spans that time period. This would mean that Lauriam waited for 2 years in the data world before worrying about his sister's absence??? Then again, THIS absurd idea is also supported by the flashback where Brain gets the book from Ava that says "4 years ago", 2 years in the real world, duplicated in the data world. The flashbacks with the MoM happen "5 years ago" so that also alligns with the idea that KHX runs on about 2 years... It also means that even if Ven was very, VERY late recruit in KHX, he would have been 8 (EIGHT !!!) when he became a Keyblade wielder... Gods the timeline of this game is absolute bullshit x)

46:57 I think she's right. I think the meteor shower they're talking about is from Hollow Bastian, because it brings Kairi with it, and that's where she came from. This makes me think that maybe the meteor shower that Ansem sees and describes in his report is not the wall of Hollow Bastion coming down, but actually Disney Castle, because iirc that meteor shower that he described brought King Mickey with it. So it's possible that opening the door and the meteor show aren't actually related? It's wild how much of this early lore is still only partially explained.

@21:32 when you guys are talking about kairi’s grandma’s story i’m pretty sure the person asking where they are is sora, as he’s like observing a memory of kairi’s also, feel free to correct me if i’m wrong as it’s been a hot minute since i’ve played og kh1, but there’s no voice acting in this scene, not to make it ominous (though it does), but because this is a scene that was added in the remaster. there are a few scenes added in kh1’s remaster and none of them have voice acting (i believe it had to do with the way the actors’ voices had changed in the time between - specifically haley’s - though that may just be a theory)

Here is a question, why was kairi basically teleported back to destiny Island at the end of kh1 when we know in that game that she wasn't from that world to begin with?

In terms of "why can't Sora see the keyhole on Destiny Islands' door?", I always interpreted it as this: When they're kids, Riku had already been given the power of the keyblade, passed down by Terra (though only looking at KH1 this still works since it was later stated Riku was originally supposed to get the Kingdom Key until he let in the darkness and thus it changed its mind) and thus could see his world's keyhole as it was reacting to him. Later on when they're older, even though Sora had obtained the keyblade, he still couldn't see it because the keyblade hadn't decided if it really wanted to stay with him. The FF characters in Traverse Town have stated that the keyblade chooses its wielders and it's maintained throughout later games that it can be picky. By the time Sora gets to his first world after the first visit to Traverse Town, he's learned about what the keyblade can do from Leon and Yufie and he's managed to both hold his own and defeat two boss Heartless and multiple smaller ones. I would think that this would be enough to have the keyblade decide to stick with him and thus let him see the keyholes to other worlds' hearts, at least until Riku tries to take it back. But by then, it decides it wants to stick with Sora since his heart had grown in strength by that point.

Alright, I KNOW you said you're discussing the series one game at a time in release order, but I really think you're doing the discussions a disservice by ignoring information introduced later. Like all the discussions about the walls between worlds and who knew about them and how - a lot of that stuff is fleshed out later. I think ignoring that information is just gonna make later discussions more complicated.

Theory: The worlds are alive. In the same idea as say plants. They have a heart, they just can't speak. Since they all used to be 1 world, they remember the keyblades. They are unlocked by default, but when threatened they call out to the keyblade for help and expose their keyhole. Riku saw the keyhole as a warning, a call for help. But he was a kid and didn't know. By time Sora got his keyblade, it was too late. The world was already a lost cause so when he went to the door, there was nothing left to call for aid. If it was Riku instead of Sora who went to pick mushrooms at the secret place, it might have reached out again. But Sora has the keyblade for maybe 5 minutes before the door swings open, dead

I'm excited for this. I largely consider myself an expert on the lore, but I just live the franchise so much that even just discussions regarding it make me happy.

It must be so difficult to only acknowledge kh1 at this point. Because it's like THERE ARE ANSWERS but then, you only know some of them because of the other games. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO RESTRAIN MYSELF

Personally, i've always found the fact the keyholes start unlocked on the get go as a consequence of WHY the planets are the way they are. Everything is put in place so that, especially in kh1, they are as protected as possible from keyblade wielders and heartless, as to not allow another tragedy from the legend to happen again. The keyholes are unreachable if you are a normal person living on the planet (that's why riku and ansem could see the keyholes and not sora, it's not an accident since nomura explained even back then how sora got the key from riku step by step, the fact the key was his was there the whole time), and the walls around the planets stop anyone who could interact with a world's keyhole in most cases, wielders and heartless, from reaching the world in the first place. Ansem wrote the reports in the year before the fall of radiant garden, so from 10 to 9 years before kh1, the ff crew says its been 9 years. About the shooting stars on destiny islands, I've had some ideas about but the one that's more likely however, the concept that the game is likely wanting to portray, is that the walls on the islands broke with the arrival of Kairi herself, we don't really know if the only method to break the walls is to only open the keyhole or if you can forcefully smash the walls open in some way, Kairi wouldn't even have been able to enter the islands with the walls in the way after all. I doubt the meteor shower in the islands would be related to the one in hollow bastion, since some time has passed between ansem opening the door and causing the shower and him sending Kairi away. This is a future game, but dark road talks and clairifies the world order much more clearly than kh1, even if it's clear in hindsight they were the same thing. The world order that specifically donald and goofy are trying to not break is specifically related to the "disney storyline" that needs to come through. If you try to alter it and break what is supposed to happen, like in dark road or stealing items or objects needed to guide the world, things dont go well. So its definitely important for a world voyager like our crew to keep in mind.

For the keyhole of Destiny Island, funny enough I ALWAYS assumed the world/keyhole decided to show itself... xD Something along the line of "I can see in your heart you'll have a keyblade". Back in kh1 it was said that a keyblade *choose* its wielder, so why not the keyhole choosing to show itself ? Also for the "how Riku travelled to Hollow Bastion", the Beast did it too. Maleficent said his heart was strong enough to seek Belle if i remember correctly, but i always assumed he used Darkness to do it, which also fit for Riku. (Later on, we can see Vanitas flying in space with Darkness). Nice first podcast...! I expected your avatar to be apprentice!Xehanort xD

Sora and Kairi were both 14 in KH1, Riku was 15. In KH2 They're 15 and 16 respectively, and in KH3 they're still around the same age because there wasn't a real timeskip this time, only a few months have passed in the story. Since then there's been yet another year-long timeskip during ReMind, so Sora and Kairi are 16-17 and Riku is 17-18 in the current story.
