Data scientists are becoming more like data analysts. They answer BI questions and the ml models they develop are for self use. Where as MLE the goal of their ml model (in all kinds of modality) is to serve customers, that’s where engineering comes in, for productionalization. That’s why it’s harder.

That’s odd. I use power bi as a part of my enterprise 365 account. I do all this without any degree. Power query extract data from SharePoint via excel or list (or any other database) i cleans and transforms the data loads it to power bi. Then I create visualization and post those a dashboard people subscribe to. I am not an engineer or scientist…. At all

Really tough to break into, especially if your university isn't the best one in the country. Ig networking is the easiest way to get an "internship" which puts your foot in the door. Atleast in India, half of the startups are paying peanuts to do what is essentially data-entry tasks, paying close to 25% of what other established companies pay for a Software Internship :/

Nlp is like chat gpt many companies are implementing them just so they can ride on ai hype. Idk what u mean responsible ai field i think u mean prompt engineer and ai correctors? Their demand will be"high" just as swe is "easy". Their scope is ok
