I'd recommend getting a 65% keyboard for an upgrade. You'll find having a less wide keyboard will mean you will keep you mouse in line with your arm which will help your back pain, particularly on your right hand side. I personally have a ducky miya panda keyboard and rate it very highly

@0:55 A standing desk is highly recommended, I'm so glad you mentioned this. No matter how much it costs, make it happen if you can as it can make a huge difference in your life. Anyone who spends any amount of time at a computer should have one of these. Even standing for 5 mins a day is helpful. I like to set a timer on my phone to see how long I can stand and then increase it as often as I can. I come from a job that was standing for 9hrs+ a day (minus lunch and two 10min breaks) and my body got used to that. I was in pain when I got my WFH job and thought it was a huge mistake taking a job where I had to sit all day. That's wrong, my body just wasn't used to it yet, but including standing at the desk helped tremendously. @4:18 I have one of these as well. I'm a gamer and can easily spend 12hrs a day sitting at the computer, but this massager has helped so much! @15:06 A dry magic eraser will take those stains off very easily :) LOVE dry erase boards!

The idea of high typing speed comes from the competitive programming world. Generally, when you are typing on the keyboard, you are not solving a problem or thinking. So people tend to speed up this process by increasing typing speed and make more time for problem-solving/other things. But I believe this idea is exaggerated and people tend to take it to extreme levels. Mental peace is more important than increasing typing speed.

I would recommend a laptop stand or a monitor to accommodate your neck pain. Helps you look parallel to the floor when working instead of downward. You would have to use a keyboard and mouse if you do use a laptop stand though.

Solving one's posture is possible, though it can take a lot of work. Developing awareness of the regions of one's body (kinesthesia), bringing awareness-lacking regions into mobility with the rest of one's body, and strengthening that integrated postural ability is a high level sketch of the route to overcoming those discomforting, stubborn postural deficits. Via my not completely informed discernment (of the following particular claim), I tell you the source of postural deficit is virtually always a failing of either of the iliopsoases, iliacus and psoas major - from the center-center of the body there outward.
@anibalandrade3 жыл бұрын
Hi tina! Just wanted to let u know that having perfect posture for long periods of time might not be the best for your back, I saw a video on Jeff Nippard's channel saying that the best thing to do was to vary positions throughout the day and it's worked for me wonderfully 😊

Just FYI, got ergonomics, having your screen at eye level will do a lot to help your neck. You can always elevate the laptop (with a riser or books or whatever) and use that keyboard and mouse. 🐁 Using the laptop as is really isn't fantastic for wrists and neck.

The chair is really good but when you dont have any head support then nah. because no head support = 1000000000% neck pain. I personally do programming and stay on laptop most of the time. So definitely prefer that head support. 5:08 regarding the laptop issues, just do a new window and remove all bloatware and extra apps. Also, delete that cortana which messes with mic. Thats the only way to fix all the issues that you mentioned.

I use a yoga ball 65cm - 75cm as my agronomic chair, it keeps my spine active while i'm on the sitting desk, you can also use it to stretch your back and neck i have a standing desk as well, which i put an acupressure board that i can step on/off and acupressure footwear under it so the blood keeps circulating. as you keep standing it's good to dance or bounce arround between the acupressure board & walk around with the foot wear otherwise gravity just holds more blood on your feet. I also have a waist twister, so i can twist my hips while on the standing desk. It's also fun. I would uninstall windows and switch to ubuntu or other open source options. Bill gates is not cool.

Tina, if you want to buy an apple laptop go ahead (I hate them but a lot of people like them) BUT before you do. I bought this laptop Lenovo Legion 5 i5, maybe a year ago. It has never crashed on me, I actually used to game on it so it handles them well and I'm sure it would support everything you do. There is different variations of the laptop, you can get it with an intel core like I did, but they also have some with amd ryzen processors (which I think are now better than intel ones) The price I paid for it was about $1100 at Bestbuy. Good luck! :D

I also struggle with back pain, and the most important thing to avoid it is movement, not good posture. You need to change your posture often, it doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad. During the workday stand up, sit down, sit up, move your head around a bit, walk for 5 minutes… A laptop stand is also super helpful to avoid looking down. Good luck to all the twenty somethings with back pain ✊

Have been working for 1,5 years at home now and I feel actually better than when I was working at the office xD I have to agree, movement helps a lot. Got a simple IKEA desk chair without armrests and it's actually better than I imagined. Working on a laptop that is on the edge of the desk in front where I can rest my wrist on and type. External screen 3440x1440 screen at the right height and my neck moves nicely from time to time. And of course get a drink sometime, stand up and walk a bit. And put on music that makes you move helps too haha.
