There is much faking and exaggerating going on. And, the blood freezing phrases such as "It can be a huge threat", "Once it is set, it can not be stopped" are just being said two reason which is morality signaling; First the obvious one: We are aware of the risks, we will be careful about it... which is a lie of course in many levels. Second, the hard one: People will take the thing more seriously and will more likely to consider it as the next big thing even when conceived as a threat. And what will people do in such case, will they try to shut it down, stand against it to prevent next generations of mankind to be wiped by AI? No, they think it is too big to pass on and buy a lot of stock of those companies. It is just another hoax, one of the many that mankind experienced many times before and will be experiencing in future. Do not get me wrong, AI tech can be useful in many different domains if used wisely and that is that. There is nothing like "Ohhh, AGI (Artificial general intelligence) is here! Waw!" You were doing until you gave the motivation speech of "Giving AI the right direction". Well what are you suggesting? Are we to open our own AI tech company, without no money dominate the AI domain single handedly and give no space and quarter those liars. People would buy their stock even they agree to what you say, as long as they have the next idiot to sell it with interest, it will work in for their favor. Yeah, stand vigilant for what ever it is worth. I only care the truth, because I would think less of my self in the case that I found my self given to bullshit hype.

I have degrees in computer science I can say without a question. AI is a complete scam to pump up stock prices. It’s a gimmick and a catchphrase. The algorithms are machine, learning algorithms, and we’ve been using those algorithms for decades. It is not new

Guys, I have a feeling you will hate me for saying this but these people live in a totally different world than us and now that AI and machines are about to take over the workforce from us, they will definitely will want to get rid of most of us, ''the lazy, demanding and uneducated poor society''. If you think about it, we all have our own agendas too. We would love to have an easy life with all the perks that they have but without the hassle they went to to get where they are. We think is easy to be a millionare and have it all but it's definitely not. Without a proper plan we would spend it all in a flash or go nuts. We would not even be able to understand five words being at their table for one hour. They are a few and we are many, but each of us have our own priorities, our own wishes, our own way of understanding life, which makes even harder for them to please us all at the same time. We have to learn to get together and do something about it at our own level of understanding life. Why are we expecting them to do it for us? Because it's the easy way. Because we will always find arguments for all the challenges our lives throw at us and ask them to sort them out for us or else they are bad and we are the great ones. Just think about it

Love your skepticism. For me AI is won by OpenAI. Google, and Nvidia totally faking. Meta and Amazon being quiet. Microsoft and Apple, buying in. What your missing in the latter half of the video is that Open Source AI is useless as there is not yet such a thing as Open Hardware. You can have the best ideas in the world and you're not gonna make any dent in AI without a X billion dollars worth of hardware, and *this* is why Altman and everyone else is out raising capital.

My own experience with AI has been an abysmal failure. I posed a simple compound interest/contribution problem to ChatGPT. Couldn't get it right, even when I pointed out it's obvious errors. Grok is horrendous too, just unusably bad.

The problem on AI is that no one can stop. Why? Because then there are others doing it. It can't be not stopped anymore, the Pandora's box is wide open. So when all "good guys" stop developing AI, we will have AI only from bad guys. So this argument of stopping doing AI is a bad one.

A.I. is a financial trap for investors. They're going to put their money into it, it's not going to be ready or practical yet, and then they're going to lose tons of money because investors are dignified professional gamblers.

What if AI was created to provide a scapegoat that can be blamed for depopulation when the bots go crazy and rampage. Anyway, the first automated intelligence was embedded into the original compiler back in 1953. It was put in place after WW2 to dictate the outcome of WW3. It is base platform so it can undercut any AI programmed after 1953 so I am not worried about AI.

Like any tool, it can be used for good or evil. It depends on the motivation of the user. Since there are plenty of evil people in the world that we have no jurisdiction over, prepare for the worst. It's also interesting that you talk about open-source but didn't mention Richard Stallman, GNU, FSF, or gcc at all.

the one thing true about this video: it's an opinion to make money, just like the capitalists she accuses of lying about their motives. Someone must be paid for any of us to gain at all from ANY endeavor. Good job crying for cash (CfC), babygirl.

I don't care if trickle down economics works or not. Businesses should not be concerned about it. It's not why people start businesses. The only purpose of a business even the smallest one, is to make money in exchange for something some people find useful. And as long as company doesn't steal from you, it's completely ok.

AI is still young, and still in the very active process of being improved in design and capability. Anyone who hasn't been seeing dramatic improvement hasn't been working actively with evolving models. Open source AI was built mostly by for-profit companies, and mostly for strategic reasons, or because it was already obsolete, so it is no panacea for what ails for-profit AI. It also enables anyone with bad intent (probably also for a profit motive) to warp it to any evil purpose. The theory that open-source AI will somehow police misaligned AI bad actors to prevent harm is irrational fantasy. It has no such capability. Comprehensive regulation is the only potentially effective mitigation against the inevitable failure of overzealous for-profit _and_ open-source developers to adequately ensure safety and the public good. And no, politicians aren't qualified to do this, it will require hiring many well-paid consultants at industry-competitive rates. It will be expensive, and require significant staffing and legal enforcement powers.

So AI is incompetent because it couldn't tell a very sketchy drawing purporting to be a duck from a snake, which it also clearly does resemble? Why are there so many edits in this video? Could it be that the human isn't getting everything flawlessly correct on the first take? Perhaps it is because there is a profit motive that we are being deceived by video edits. Advertising and product demos have always involved carefully engineering conditions to put products in their best light, this isn't unique to the AI industry.

Perche' chi riesce a bucarlo poi manda in tilt qualunque cosa, dagli ATM ai semafori all'incrocio.

She is A I ! 1 thing she let slip on purpose is why hire a person if a machine can do it faster and cheaper. These creepy billionaires are all moving in that direction. They all know capitalism has failed and it is time to cash out as best they can and get out of town before the citizens know what has happened.
