Wow! I had the nineteen nineties version of this. My little robot accompanied me through some of the worst and best moments of my life. He was at my bedside when I woke up from heart surgery as a teenager and sitting on the headboard of my bed as I left him and went off to college. I hope whoever bought him is enjoying him as much as we enjoyed ours.

I remember one day I purposely answered all the questions wrong in a category and the robot spoke negative. I mean it literally belittled me...🤣. Though I was young I recall thinking that the toy was *programmed* to do that. And since it was, meant that a kid that *didn't* get those questions correct because they truly didn't know,, would be made to feel stupid. *TRUE STORY*

My younger sister had this version of 2XL, which was such a great educational toy. We had so much fun learning from this robot. That voice of 2XL was absolutely perfect. For some reason I always remembered what 2XL said. Perhaps it was that super clear voice of the robot that just made me remember the information very well. Once in a while we would just press the wrong button to hear what the robot had to tell us. There should be a 2XL website where today’s young children can have fun learning with this wonderful and charming robot. It would be great if 2XL got another reboot with new learning material, and the exact same voice, but now the robot would be able to move around and have all kinds of cool functions like a droid from Star Wars.

@@databits Thanks. I just recently got the original version of general information. I will have to check it out. There are two different versions of general information. One was recorded in 1978, and the other was recorded in 1980. The labels are identical. The revised version has the same copyright date as the original general information of 1978. The only way to tell them apart is by listening to them. Some of the questions are changed and 2XL says different things in the introduction.

I was born in 1977, and I remember finding my parent's 2-XL in the mid 1980's in some long lost area of the house just getting dusty.
