Very cool tree and video, in 2:10 in order to deselect the leaves he select the square selection tool and press outside the painting square, in 2:28 in order to open this screen you need to 'Ctrl + U' the keyboard. in 3:13 press '1' in the right side of the keyboard

well when I joined as a dev in 2020 most of the roblox site tutorials were deprecated and really bad. This happened with unity a long time ago too. People just didn't have access to good information to learn from, so that engine was known to suck.

idk if you know this, probably do, but you can set the blend mode to alpha hashed to kind of get the 'smooth' alpha blend look, rather than alpha mask. its how i make hair

Thanks for the great help. I've made a geometry node setup for the leaf texture that generates this random rotation with a small offset from the centre, so you don't have to do it by hand in the future. I can send it to you if you like :)

I did the same but I don't have the fluff effect, it's just weird shadows (btw my faces are red at Y and white at -Y), and the leaves were planes so in Roblox they're transparent in a certain angle. Probably because you use an old version of Blender.

You need to turn on double sided in roblox studio plus turning on auto shade with the uv circle should fix the weird shadows if you didn't do that. :)
