This was outstanding! Ladies, if you're afraid of losing a man don't give him any indication you would possibly yield to sexual sin and if he pressures you get away from him. He never really loved you or cared enough to respect you.

I’m a friend for 11 months till marriage IF it comes to that . He is not to enthusiastic about it . We are attracting to one another but it was my call to have sex free relationship. I told him “ no husband privilege before wedding and I’m 51. Age doesn’t matter here. I’m new to him and he is new to me . We both were married before and I want to do it differently this time, the right way .

The secret of successful dating No Sex before Marriage. "You make me a Bride i make you a Baby"! and if you can not do that, then your not the man i have been praying for!
@tinaperez73932 жыл бұрын
This was awful. Why would anyone say something so stupid. "Make me a bride." "Make you a baby". Blech. This is bizarre language and "thinking" and attitudes and ignorance straight out of the 1950's. Just say you're waiting til marriage (and that might be to him so why talk as if it even could be at that point? and that you'd even want marriage with him yet?) and if he's not okay with that, no big deal, just say so long, good bye then, and all that. Also, it's so stupid that Jimmy isn't teaching the guys to be celibate too. Stupid, irresponsible and ridiculous. I've dated a number of guys who when we were getting close, said they were waiting until marriage and let me tell you, if that's the guy's mindset, not only is nothing going to happen, but it's just a huge relief - no having to bother with birth control, medical appointments, medical and birth control expenses, urinary tract infections, yeast infections, no std worries, no std worries if someone cheated, no pregnancy worries, no nervousness about when one's cycle is going to start, etc. etc, etc Plus, there are plenty of other ways to be physical without sex. Jimmy left out a much here that is common sense and beneficial to both the girls AND guys that it was just on the level of irresponsible and idiotic.

Does the courtship period of 6 months - 2 years mean until you are engaged?? Or until you are married?? I read in a Christian blog that the engaged couple should not overly extend the engagement period or there can be discouragement, frustration, and disilllusionment. I agree with that.
@jackjones36575 жыл бұрын

Anyone can be perfect for 18 months then the facade slips and becomes everyday life. Wait at least that time before marriage so you really know the person in every situation, because once you are married you may find yourself in that very situation and you will know how he will react and how you will be treated.

My problem is that I struggle with thinking that all sex, including marriage, is bad.
@williamchoi8084 жыл бұрын
So yeah, if two people do it exactly perfect, then you have a 50% chance of success. My take is this (after going through a marriage with someone who had a completely different culture, background, habits, and Borderline Personality Disorder, and too many other personality problems): cohabitation is NOT the reason for a very slight increase in divorce. It’s because most people who cohabit are not church going Christians. And Christians come into marriages trying their best not to get a divorce, and having faith that God will do miracles to change the other person so the relationship can be bearable. Secondly, what is marriage according to the Bible? It’s not getting a state sponsored license. It’s getting approval from the bride’s father. Then under a pastoral facilitation, getting married, but not even that. All you need is the approval of the dad.

Growing up in church I was never popular, handsome or rich. I saw many girls going after the jerks, the popular, and the rich. Me and other good Christian friends didn't stand a chance. Now I see many of those women divorced and having all kinds of problems in life. My friend said that he actually enjoys to know that they had marriage problems. He says that they deserve to be punished for making the wrong decisions when God had lots of good guys around but they decided to marry the jerks. Women choose wrong and than buy lots of books and go to seminars to try to figure out what is wrong. Pretty much they married a jerk. The right guy was the one that was not so popular and you rejected and humiliated him.

And many single men who desire to become that good man that God expects get rejected by those ladies including me. A traumatic experience of rejection that I endured at a church I was serving at sealed my decision to NEVER attend a church's singles ministry again....that was 17 years ago.

@airplane80, I have a similar experience. My ex after he left me fighting for my life, came back and asked me to be his 2nd wife. I didn’t agree. He regrets it to this day. The pain of rejection is real BUT the Lord healed me. I forgave the guy.

No, if a man is the "right one," he's not going to pressure you into having sex or even ask you for sex because he will be more focused on honoring God and living holy and leading his bride-to-be in godliness rather than being a carnal person. People can be attracted to one another and love one another very much, but it doesn't mean we have to sin against God. Also, it's not the woman's job to control and raise a man on how to be Godly and enforce boundaries. If you need to enforce sexual boundaries with another person, they aren't the person for you. They don't respect you or God. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and be accountable to God, not you.

This is bizarre language and "thinking" and attitudes and ignorance straight out of the 1950's. Why would the female be even considering the guy as husband material yet at this point (early dating and stages). This assumes the female is even interested in marrying someone it sounds like she barely knows yet. And so many other weird archaic, sexist assumptions in that wording. Just stupid language. Just say you're waiting til marriage (and that might NOT be to him so why talk as if it even could be at that point? and that you'd even want marriage with him yet?) and if he's not okay with that, no big deal, just say so long, good bye then, and all that. Horrible. Jimmy putting all the onus on the women. He says "the young ladies are the enforcers". Boys HAVE to be trained, expected, and held accountable to be sexually responsible and "honor" their OWN sexuality too. There's absolutely no excuse for guys not being expected to be sexually responsible TOO. Just super gross, cringe, and "ew". Jimmy is straight out of the dark ages on this one. Saying, "girls" or ladies, now YOU'RE the ones that have to be "the enforcers". What rot and garbage. He and his "preaching" are just more of part of the problem.
