Well since the brazilians didn't answer the question, I'll answer, we date a lot with people from our school, university, work, neighbourhood, basically anywhere we can socialize or even dating apps, a lot of times in dms on internet. We go to dates at movies, restaurants, etc and we see each other, kiss and do other stuff but most of the time to make it official, one of the couple has to ask if the other wants to be his/her girlfriend/boyfriend (in a straight relationships it's mostly the guy who has to ask because of tradicionalism), if you don't officialize it can be confused to know if you can see other people or not, and the time to engage and marry is variable, a lot of people live together before marrying. Edit: I forgot to mention that there is a lot of double standards here like wanting a girl to have sex but if she does call her a hoe, if not, a prude, and we have a growing protestant culture here that is very full of conservatism and hypocrisy, so we are not thaat progressive
