the marriage contract includes the option if the man can marry more than one wife only by permission from the wife So the wife signs the contract knowing if theres a possibilty of a second wife or not, all under what she allows

@proudfemale This verse is according to the circumstances, when wife on wrong track and husband should be on right track. if she on wrong track means , might be she is violating the commandments of God , or rude with husband and children, commiting sins. In such scenario God commanded to husband, first talk to her, if she continue disobeying , then in 2nd step , he then sleep apart from her. if she again continue disobeying, then in 3rd step he can beat very lightly while admonishing her.

READ exactly what part of the quran it talks about marrying 4 women! Abu Bakr instisted marrying his daughter to Muhammad.
