Everyone has control of their government because without citizens there would be no goverment. So who actually makes up the rules and who creates the government? Who let's them be in power only because people are afraid to stand up and do something about it? Instead of doing that your men rather buy a new watch or a new car but still live with mommy in the ghetto and your women rather spend another $300 on weave and expect their drinks to be bought in the club just because they have a vagina and no other reason than that. So yes, you are (we all are) responsible for the actions of our government because WE pay them to do so.

This sort of thing happened to my mom, but the guy she was seeing was from Argentina. He loved her charm and personality, but when the conversation started to move towards America, he started being an ignorant a**hole who would say how much he and the rest of the world hated the US. My mother and I weren't born in the US, but we love living here and we're very grateful for this country, so we're definitely patriotic and consider America our home. Her boyfriend soon became an ex when she realized (well, technically I realized it first) that he was trying to use her to move himself and his family to America. Ok, so you hate our country but you want to move here with your family because it's got a better living environment and better opportunities? Really? :| Anyhow, I know not everyone in Europe (and other countries) hate us, but sometimes it's disappointing when you hear stories and other people's experiences on how negatively they view Americans. I just hope their view on us changes to the positive so there are less awkward situations.

Well I have to admit I do hate America but I don’t hate Americans. American people are generally quite nice it’s just everything America supposedly stands for, it’s politics, foreign policies, gun laws, judicial system, media etc. If I heard an American say “ride or die USA” I’d automatically hate them. I’d suggest to any American travelling to Europe or Britain to leave the whole patriotism thing at home. It’s a cultural thing, we just don’t like it. Everybody already thinks Americans are loud, obnoxious, stupid, arrogant (yes I know these are stereotypes) but when you say things like that it just reinforces this perception. Also the girl that made that comment to you was out of line but how we’d deal with a silly comment in the U.K. is to just laugh it off & apologise lol like “oh yeah sorry about that”. But I can imagine that must have been so awkward for you, she was being a jerk. Anyway I do hope you’re able to come back to the U.K., you seem lovely 😉.

You're right! Everywhere I go with my American friends people are like 'oh so you're from America?' but people would never question my other foreign friends about their nationalities! I guarantee you it's because American media is a lot more prominent in the UK than other foreign media. I'm talking on the internet, on television, in the news, everywhere! So British people naturally have a curiosity about the US. In a good way (though we won't admit it) but also in a negative way. That being - we entered a war with you guys and British people love to tell Americans how much they resent that at any given opportunity. (I'm so sorry) We also see things like Fox News and we just want to make sure Americans don't think it's ACTUAL news. JUST MAKING SURE. I apologise for all the drunk people at parties with opinions. Nobody deserves that :P

On the other hand CNN oh they really bother me I can handle news networks with bias either way but CNN acts like it's so unbiased and I absolutely hate it.

Anti americanism has been around forever, smh. I dont feel europeans have a right to hate on americans so much. Number 1, USA always has Europe's back. The super majority is of european descent and will always look out for them. There's no anti european sentiment in America. All we hear about are positive things about Europe. Meanwhile, Europe luvs to air America's " dirty laundry" and never their own. Europeans have always been welcomed here. They prosper easily here without any problems of classicism nor bigotry. European immigrants have prospered at the expense of any minority that was born and bred in America. All because of their skin color.

I guess the most common reason for europeans to hate americans will be that we always have to deal with the shit the US Army started.. And yeah... "most of the americans are not like that".. but if this would be a fact, there would be, at least somewhere in between, a period of time the US wouldn't be at war.. But history shows: since ~200 years there merely always has been war involving the US troops.. but: Were/are theese wars in America? Somewhere near America? there you go.. recent example: after starting trouble in syria (yeah, french guys also involved) obama made this generous offer to accept 10000 refugees in the US; you realize what's happening in europe at the moment?

Typical European hypocrite BS. Last 4 centuries of pillage? How many third world nations exist that were European colonies? WW1? WW2? Who drew the state lines in the middle east across tribes that causes sectarian bloodshed? Ask yourself why the Kurds are in four different countries. Who drew the lines in Africa that resulted in Darfur? How many hundreds of millions dead? How much of this shit can be laid at Europe's feet? There's one reason Europe is at peace for the last half century, and its not because of Europe.

Ha. I think that the biggest problem is that some Americans are incredibly touchy. You say something and they immediately think you hate them or that you are trying to ridicule them. And that you must hate America. Well you have to understand that Europeans are very critical people in general. Not only to foreigners but even to themselves ;) .... Most of the Europeans 'hate' other Europeans. Its in our blood - to criticize. Some Americans are also insanely nationalistic (mostly from the South such as Texas) and that is something we do not understand here. Even though as European I have to say we have some people like that too. And with all honesty Nationalists are the most ridiculous people in this world and it doesn't matter where are they coming from. Its nice to be proud but not when you overdo it ;) . Especially when you never contributed to the greatness of your country haha. I still think that both US and Europe are great and Im sure other countries as well. And its better if we rather concentrate on positive things ;) ...For example I think that Americans are very funny, they have loads of energy and those I met here in Europe are incredibly good looking! Fat or not. They still have pretty faces and they are very ordered and clean.

Not to mention (although far from terrible) the education system in the US isn't the best in the world either... some could even argue that with the fees you guys have to pay for university borders violating having a right to edication. I am not trying to make this a question of which countries are better than who but i just find it unfair that you believe you couldn't have been given the opportunities that you have had in Europe too. Kells the responses I've read so far have been typical. Nothing new. Mainly about the country's foreign policy. If we go by Poster Princess Leah's reasoning it's totally understable to dislike a country because it "invaded" another. Not for conquest, but for qeustionable reasons in the name of stability. She also thinks that war carried out by millions (US military) this killed millions is a more sound point to than to harbor dislike for a small group that killed thousands. So it's a convoluted numbers game. What the US military did was immensely more disturbing than ISIS. Princess Leah has spoken.

I understand what you are trying to say, however, your last comment on the reasoning for Europeans not wanting to go to the US, is far from your indication that they just can't get a Visa, all European Union States are granted visa waivers. Probably best to fact check before hand. Also the idea that Europeans hate the U.S is more geared to the idea that those from the U.S have a reputation for being load and uncultured considering that Europeans although I wouldn't say we have the monopoly on culture. We do like to think of ourselves as far more cultured than our North American cousins. But like many countries your culture has made its way into many homes in Europe and it has very much changed the mindset of young Europeans attitude towards the States.

Now I know I have acted a fool a because if you know black Americans are stereotyped by Africans and I'm sitting here thinking only Africans do this because of their superiority and inferiority complex about us but now I know that Europeans stereotype white americans and now I feel better so I have no more reason to feel hurt because white americans are getting the same treatment from Europeans like us black Americans are getting from africans.
@Samchocolate115 жыл бұрын
Eddie Granberry - unfortunately some black Europeans look down upon and hate on black Americans too similarly to Africans. I think it’s because there are obvious cultural differences and some black Europeans judge those different values. But don’t worry there are also black Europeans who appreciate black Americans and their contributions to the world, from the civil rights movement, to creating jazz and blues, to creating hip hop, to the books black Americans have written, the films they’ve directed and starred in etc, etc.

@fredswetnam36828 жыл бұрын
No... why are they much better? In which way? At least, Asian men are less testosterone-driven compared to blacks and whites and are commonly more relaxed and equilibrated for that. On the other hand, Asians _(especially Japanese)_ admire _(and plenty of them even try to imitate)_ the physical aspects of white people, but they tend to be racist towards black people. Japanese ppl also like (white) Yankees even though they got humiliated and nuked by them in WW II which was totally unnecessary... pretty stupid mindset in my honest opinion. Their DNA got destroyed forever, but they keep kissing their enemies' arses. That is kind of sick!

Any time I see BBC or any European news channel all they do is talk shit about the US not because they are liberal but because they want attention.
@youngin9858 жыл бұрын
@leahcarloff the USA would have never have gotten involved with WW1 at all if the UK was not crying for us to hep them since Germany alone was beating them.
@liamdavis23878 жыл бұрын
youngin985 The US was still barely involved in WW1 at all. Your reasons for joining are irrelevant. And as for the imperialist comment earlier, I've already stated that I am okay with people judging me based on the actions of my country. I know that while I don't directly take part in the wars my country wages or even support them, I indirectly benefit in numerous ways, and I also indirectly support them through taxes and elections. Me and Kells both come from countries who wage more wars than they can justify. The difference is that I accept it will affect my reputation abroad. And as for what you mentioned about the BBC, it's not because they want attention. The BBC is the largest public broadcaster in the world and they have a relatively good reputation. The reason they constantly talk about the US is because you're all doing such ridiculous things that it's hard not to pay attention. But how about this: you stick with Fox and CNN, I'll stick with the BBC, and we'll both be happy.

agnieszka van heirreweghe Unfortunately, we don't have any good options this year. I like Kasich, but he has no chance of winning a party that has been hijacked by the extreme neo fascist alt-right. It looks like Hillary or Bernie would be a better option than Trump when it comes to foreign affairs, Trump just scares me and he could bring about a nuclear war. This is not coming from a liberal either (libertarian and proud)

I can't say 100%, but London was lovely when I was there. I do think the rest of Europe is much different and the US is OK, but it depends on where you are. Generally the bigger and more diverse the city, in any country, the better for race relations.

Um, sorry to tell you 'Kells' but i am European and i know for a fact that a large majority don't like to date African American women and see them as quite loud. This is no way directed at You, but i must say that i have lived all over my homeland of Europe and ALOT! of men see African Americans especially as very unattractive and 'stereotypical'. Just an insight. Peace. Also, talk like a 'White' American. Why do you try to be white? You are black :/?
@ItsKells8 жыл бұрын
"Sean" there are many countries in Europe, so you being "European" doesn't speak for all of them. Also, there is no such thing as "talking white" or "talking black". Are you "talking European"? Why do you try to be smart? Are you smart? Last, no, I'm green, obviously.
