Tara I always had great luck using a small beetle spin with a one inch black mr. twister body. Awesome crappie and perch slayer on light line. Make sure that rascal you are fishing with doesn't throw his fish at your end of the boat too. LOL I saw him spooking your fish. The area you all were fishing was so pretty. Thanks for taking us along. :D

Very nice video from you. You have beautiful nature right under your nose. We recently had very good weather, but last night heavy rain and storm, a large branch broke off, certainly with 2 buckets a good 35 liters of plums on it. What a mess. Tell Tara the reason you are catching fish is " the person in the front gets first chance at the hungry ones. She has to catch the ones that you leave for her. Then she has to make fish that don't want to eat, bite. Another name for the Maypops is Passion Fruit.

Deer love the muscadines too. I use to have a muscadine vine and a scuppernong vine. I loved eating them straight off the vine. Squeeze them out of the skins. That are so sweet.

I love catching bluegill on my fly rod

I was using a fly rod at age of 6 with dad. We used small bait called Hildabrandt Spinner with a small white strip of Uncle Josh Pork Rind on the hook. About 3” above the hook was a BB size splitshot and then a cork sinker. We jigged them around wood & boat docks. The crappies loved them. Great memories.
