The other thing is that this video doesn't even go into aghs combos. There's some insane stuff that can be done once you're 25 with the echo slash talent. You get aghs, the echo slash talent, and then go: Start Katana -> Swap to Sai -> Sai Q -> Katana Q Which will proceed to hit everyone with 3 echo slashes, which will also echo and hit everyone that is hit with echo slash with an additional falcon rush hit. You can add Sai ulti to it as well, and you can do it without actually exhausting katana ult, having both available to you in a fight such that you can raptor dance mid fight while still applying a mark to everyone: Start Katana -> Switch to Sai -> Sai Ult -> Katana W -> Sai Q -> Katana Q -> Katana Ult Aghs has a skill ceiling that is disgustingly high and that's not even touched on here. - If you want to use both the katana and sai spells on a single key, then the mode has to be swapped into before you use the spell, unless it's counterpart has already been used, then you can just use the other ability. - For example in the above combo, you have to swap from katana into sai in order to falcon rush but leave echo slash up. However, since we have used sai ult already, it's totally okay to just use the katana ult without swapping from sai into it. I've had entire enemy teams explode single handedly from just aghs combos on this hero. He's insane.

There's an additional combo with aghs, where you go Katana -> Sai -> Sai ult -> katana -> Katana ult and the % based dmg from raptor dance "crits" from the mark and does even more damage. Does 60%+ hp dmg with no items but removes all of your defensive ults immediately, so very risky.

I think the most important combos to learn are the: 1. Laning combo from lvl 4 to 6: (sai) Parry the attack => Falcon Rush => Hit twice => Switch to Katana => A. (If target in range of a hit) Hit with Katan => Grappling Hook (Right after the hit). [It's 8 hits total, and the absolute max I found on lvl 4) B. (If out of range of the next Katana Hit) just Grappling Hook. [It's 6 hits total] This will deal about 400-500 dmg on lvl 4, depending on how lucky you are on sai crits and armor. From what I found you should do the combo, disangage, and kill on 2nd or 3rd attempt. And second and third important combos are agh combos, which are essentially your late game: 1. Kill without fully commiting: (Start with Katana) Switch to Sai => Falcon Rush => Switch to katan => Echo Slash => Switch to Sai => Sai Ulti (Escape + Crit) / if wasn't enough finish with => Switch to Katana => Grappling Hook => Katana Shard Thus should be about 3000-5000 dmg with 6 slots, which is enough to kill almost any hero + before every skill there was a switch so everything else is still available like Katana ulti. Also its very fast and if done fast enough you'll be able to keep the opponent stunned with Sai ulti and Katana Shard 2. Commit: (Katana) Switch to sai => Falcon Rush => Switch To Katana => BKB(if jumping into all out fight) => Grappling Hook => Echo Slash => Switch to Sai = Sai Ulti => Sai toss (2nd skill, silence backline) => Switch to Katana => Katana Ulti => Katana Shard => if winning- finish them off, if not sure- disangage => switch to sai => w8 for Falcon Rush (by the time it resets everytjing except ulties will be ready) If you manage to land Echo Slash and Katana Ulti on at least 3 heros its usually a win (since it's 3000-5000 dmg each). But you will most likely be dead if you begin the fight first, so usually the first Agh combo is the go to. If you are able to pull this off without constantly thinking about how to press buttons, you'll definitely be able to do everything you might need. Since it's just a versetile hero, combos should be adapt to a certain scenrio. So I don't really see the point in framing youtself into any combo (maybe only lvl 4 combo since it's most optimized)

Sai Parry auto cancels when you use an ability. (you cannot cancel it your cancel hotkey) this way you can Punish people during laning phase. parry -> silence parry -> Katana Q Parry -> Sai Q -> Katana W Since you mark your opponent. Your Katana W deals more damage + get more lifesteal It's funny because when you do it several times. You'll basically make your opponent anxious in lane. You can Parry "Most" Physical damage. that includes PA's dagger, ember sleight of Fist (although it doesn't stun him) Mar's Shield bash etc;

I just want to leave a small tip about Kez lane phase that I it's good for solo players, where you can't communicate properly with your supports, or you can't get rotations from team. I started to play this hero starting with Hook (W) spell, instead of Q, and I am usually doing 1-3-1-1 Skill build. The reason is that Kez is kind squishy and he can be pressured super hard, like in this video where You're almost always < 50% HP. Focusing his W in lane means you can keep healthy and deny enemy harass while you gather your stick charges for any lane fights. Winning harass battle means your presence in lane is strong and you're not afraid to get all last hits in lane, you can use W to hit enemy and heal for a flat 120 HP + attack damage, or use it to grab a tree and escape ganks. So here is my tip, if you're learning Kez or you feel you get harassed a lot in lane with him, focus his W spell and embrace the great heal / harass it provides and the dive / escape potential after level 6.

0:20 there's quite a bit of misconceptions here. How you want to think of katana vs sai is whether you want to kill an enemy as fast as possible or dish as much damage as possible (given they have no escape/team saves/bkb/etc). When you do katana, you will do more damage overall but the passive can be dispelled in many ways including bkb despite being physical so the katana will do much less damage if the person pops a bkb after your combo compared to just staying in sai. When you want to assassinate someone or kill them as fast as possible or they have something to dispel the damage over time in the katana stance then use sai. Also, you as much as possible do not want to cast the raptor dance when you still have remaining duration on the falcon rush in most cases. The example here used raptor dance barely into the combo and had about 25-30% of the buff left missing out on a lot of damage. Also saw a bit more stuff here like tower pushing using katana stance. If I remember correctly sai stance will dish more damage to towers since it has a higher attack speed.

kez is a snowball tempo hero. if you're farming late game against other carries, you gonna lose most of the time. i bought casual crystalis so my combo one shots anyone 1v1 from early to mid game, that way I can kick anyone out of the map solo and have good control of the game. fury then helps me scale and buy end game items. 😉

Have you experimented with Agh's much? At a base level I think it allows you to walk around in Katana mode freely, which feels nice because of the grappling hook and ult. You can switch to Sai to get the Dragon Rush and immediately switch back to Katana and Grappling Hook. From there you can keep trying to switch before using each ability to maximize efficiency, but you can also just Raptor Dance or whatever you need. I've only used it in a few games, but I feel like there's a lot of potential.

Also lvl 1 I think 2nd spell is much better than 1st unless if something happened like in the video theres a fight on the runes where 1st skill is better because u can hit multiple targets and slow them to deal maximum inpact when contesting a rune. Because 2nd skill gives you a decent amount of sustain during the first wave and it also helps u secure the range at the same time. Also theres 2 kinds of play style of kez that I know, 1 where you first max q and 2 where u first max w. The first play style is good for bursting people at lane but u will lack the mobility and sustain to play after the laning phase which is why u go battlefury to farm like what carries does and scale throughtout the game while also looking for chances to join fights because kez is a good carry that doesnt really require much item to have an impact as long as you have ult mainly the katana ult. The second play style is the one where you have alot of sustain and can pretty much move around the map easier cuz ur w gives u an ability to escape initiate and also lifesteal and you can use that to play actively throughtout the entire early to mid game which is why you shouldnt really go for battlefury with this skill build but instead go for diffusal, s and y, manta or witch blade first item that lets u snowball your lane and also help other lanes which is very common in high bracket. I'm not the best Kez player but this is just my opionion on the hero I use alot during it's release. I hope this helps :) dont mind my english please :D

you forgot about kez aghanim double ult combo, the katana ult can proc sai mark and the 2nd and 3rd hit deals more damage because the 1st deal critical for some reason, it's really great to fight meepo or to combo with team disabler, I have the full combo sequence but be careful to not proc the sai ult with the bunshin, Katana switch sai Q switch katana Q switch sai silence switch katana hit (use katana W if necessary for chasing) switch sai ult switch katana (make sure no bunshin is still active from katana Q hitting the target) ult and you deal a lot of area damage with the ult dealing more damage with AOE bash and more heal, your welcome

Hey mate, really good Kez example, but you forgot to mention agh shard, it doesnt cost much, but it is really strong for bursting down important/mobile targets with it. Also consider building desolator as crystalys doesnt stack well with sai crits, while deso works really good with passive crits and you gain deso stacks pretty easily on kez.

I play a clown build that rushes deso and build blink/more damage/scepter, maxing Q and E first All I do in the game is walk around, wait for teamfight/solo kills, use Sai ult to mark and Katana Q to land big damage If you manage to land counter to mark it works too but less reliable Usually bursts supports very well and unless they have heals as long as you land the combo you can start walking away because it does a lot of damage and DoT if you hit decent item timings Obviously if you know the combos and all it'll be good, but with this you can play with 1 braincell and still make decent impact

Kez is actually broken AF even if you can't utilize all the skills, just using the 2nd skill during katana to get closer then use sai or just using sai permanently then using ulti to get close to enemies and attack them is just as OP. if you use the latter then even building pure atkspd and no damage like say: 1. Boots Travel (upgraded to 2 optimal) 2. Butterfly 3. Mjolnir 4. Bloodthorn 5. Assault Cuirrass 6. Monkey King Bar 7. Moonshard (Consumed) 8. Aghanims Blessing (Consumed) 9. Aghanims Shard 10. Neutral item with Attack Speed or Movespeed or Both (Tier 5 Pirate hat optimal) (*TAKE NOTE that the list of items is not in the right order to get but just a general consensus of a maxed item) Optional: Can exchange 3,4,5 or 6 with BKB and/or Nullifier if needed. 7-9 can be prioritized after getting at least 2 of the items before those. Now imagine using all the items in the list, just press Ultimate to get close to an enemy and then use 1st to activate damage output with the atkspd build then 2nd skill only to silence enemy if needed while 3rd (it becomes activatable with the shard IIRC) won't be used but stays as passive for a bigger chance to deal more damage as well as the talents you get prioritize for Sai and not Katana like especially the 50% evasion during 1st skill use in Sai form. With this build, you can practically kill all within seconds and I kid you not, even though I sucked playing this hero and although I lost the game, I was able to kill all 5 enemies twice in the clash (not full rampage sadly but the damage output was insane provided I was against 2 beefy heroes, pudge and bristle back along with a PA, sniper and a WD). You don't need to buy damage items like Daedalus or Desolator or even Divine Rapier, all you need is Sai 1st skill and max atkspd. PS: If you're laning with heroes who spam magic like DATOHLEONG was against lich and rubick, don't be afraid to buy "Infused Raindrops" costs 225 with 6 charges to block magic damage. Can save you a lot of healing items or possibly a fatal blow during early games. It's underrated but it's one of the best early game defenses you can get against magic damage heroes.

@@MrWeissenHerz bracer is the better option than wraithband at start but it's cheaper and way better to get Infused Raindrops instead of buying a bracer costing 500+. Mageslayer is also an option as it depends on your preference as long as you get attackspeed as a main attribute considering you're aiming for a max atkspd for this build, you can change Mjolnir or AC the most out of the other items on the list for it. It is a situational item build NGL as if you need defenses to avoid dying when diving in. But then again, if you are a carry, never be allergic to BKB as Mageslayer is not a substitute to being actually immune to disables and magic and those diminishing 10-6 secs of immunity are bigger than magic defense from mageslayer during a clash.

I'm noobish, so don't listen to me. But I really like buying lightnings to farm (it procs on katana Q) and I usually level the E at the laning stage. It's so much poison dps that trading hits is always favorable (unless it's a slark or w/e). The downside is you can't garantee not getting kills stolen, which is very common in my bracket (archon 3). also mageslayer is my second item after lightning if there are enemy spellcasters. pretty fun to debuff everyone with katana ulti. plus you need some mana regen anyways. sometimes I even get a blink dagger to setup and W to leave afterwards! so much fun anyways
