Showing Datsun 100A starting, freed the clutch and all 4 wheels which had seized up. Then we towed it down the road to get some compression into it, then hooked up fresh petrol and a battery, and off she went.

Toplessgun (the guy who made the game) almost definitely has a Datsun 100A. That's why the car in the game looks so much like the one in real life.

Great wee engines but prone to blowing the head gasket between 2 and 3. Alloy head and cast iron block expanded at different rates. Got it down to 2 hours to swap the gaskets. These engines were based on a British design btw. if you ran it out of fuel the battery would die before the lift pump filled the carb. Clutch can be changed in about 20 mins. used to run mine on 2 star but would go like the clappers on 4 star or formula shell.

Yes they were austin/bmc derived engines but improved upon, I remember changing the clutch in 20 mins also, they we're great little car's to drive nippy etc
