When I see this much rust, I always think it need to go to "minute of dangle". They make all the rust go away.

Mate, tig welding for this process is very painful

I used mig for a lot of the other rust repairs on this car and found the opposite. With tig you can come off the pedal just a tad and save yourself from burning through, versus with mig it’s just spray and pray with metal this thin. Obviously if you’re really good with mig, that might be different, but I suck at it 😂
