What a funny coincidence! I had a car(early '90's) I [nicknamed] "the tank", too! Difference is, the car i named that was my 1980 BMW 528i. It's also funny how both cars have a 3 digit numeric designation that begins with the number 5. My reason for calling it "the tank"(German, of course) was the SAME as yours . . . unstoppable* vehicle! By mid 90's, I was driving a white '69 510 4-door. I loved that 510, especially after the many performance upgrades I did to it. It was so much fun to drive! Today, I drive a Toyota TUNDRA. I call it: "reliable".

Nissan kinda did. The skyline was a product of the Prince motor company, as a luxury car. In the 60s Nissan bought Prince. Nissan continued to manufacture the Skyline but started to remove the luxury items and turned it into a sporty sedan and coupe. The current skyline is now a crossover SUV. The last skyline sedan/coupe was sold in the us as the Infiniti G35, the only skyline ever officially sold in the US. The current GTR officially has no lineage to the previous skyline GTRs according to Nissan.

CamaroAmx actually the current Skyline is what we Americans refer to as the Infiniti Q50 and the Infiniti Q60. The V35, V36 and V37 Skylines were all sold as Infiniti’s in the US, the G35 and the G37 come to mind, since these are Skylines. The circular taillights in the rear is a dead giveaway as to what car it really is.

Datsun/Nissan's have been in my family since I was little. My Mom and Dad each had 240 and 260 z's. My Mom also had a 510, then later a 280zx. Of course the 280's voice didn't work right and said doors were "ajar" all the time lol. My favorite memories of that Z was sometimes after getting picked up from school, my Mom would let me lay down in the back and watch the sky through the hatch as she drove us home.

Like the car cannot be controlled by all of it's owners because the car is possessed. That turned me off. It's racing man. I don't need possessed car BS. The protagonist also crashed the car. Rebuilding the car is too long for me. A crashed car means no racing for a while also in the anime. I didn't even know that it's more about tunning. I don't know if it's worth another try watching some of the episodes. Maybe it will get interesting... I watched Capeta. That is another racing manga/anime that I know is good. Can you suggest any racing anime/manga? It doesn't have to be just cars. I watched the marathon anime on Netflix. It's more on the reality of college marathon running. It's not good but I finished it. I tried watching Free the swimming anime. I stopped watching it because the characters started to get weird. It's like the they are male guys but the scenes are almost gay. I also have watched Yowamushi Pedal. A highschool cycling racing anime. It's kind of fun not to be taken seriously racing anime.

In 1980 my first car was a 1969 Datsun 510 two door. I sold it after the origional 1600 engine blew and I replaced it with an 1800 Japanese crate engine. Then after installing the replacement engine I apparently didn't close the hood all of the way and it flew up braking my wind shield and bending the A-pillars! I sure do wish I still had that car!

The 280 ZX is the best looking mass production sports car of all time. It’s the pinnacle of classic sports car design, before everything got ultra streamlined and plastic-y. It was iconic in its own time, I was a kid in the early 80s and remember everyone needed the 280zx hot wheels lol. Nothing back in that day looked anything like it, other than Porsches or Jaguars or other exotics. The corvette still looked like the 70’s with its balloon tires, dodge and Ford had their competing dumpy looking hatchbacks, but the 280zx was in a league of its own. Still looks great today,
