On the 50th minute of the 36th hour of the raid race, Datto confronts The Witness for the final time. “You’ve Edged your last Salvation pal, now it’s time to Finalize your Shape” Datto bravely proclaims. Datto then boops The Witness off the side of The Traveler with his mighty Tractor Cannon, and the Witness is no more. Datto then pauses for a moment, smiles, looks into the stars and thinks... “Datto Did Destiny”.

My favorite part was tuning in to the stream every few hours to see how much morale had drained

I did the same, and the only team who's morale never drained was Aztecross' team. Seriously, at one point I tuned in to Datto, Gladd and Saltagreppo and all of them said things like: '.... ugh... this... I'm so tired. I haven't eaten since yesterday' and '... ok... right... jump... nope... bullshit'. Then I tuned into Aztecross and it was like: 'RIGHT! SHOOT! JUMP! YOU GOOD! Aaaaaaahhhh, shit. OK, no worries. WE GOT THIS'. It was nuts. They may have been 39th to clear it, but they were by far the best morale team. No question about it. They also went the longest. While Datto was sleeping, they were still going and never lost faith. They got it before Datto woke up too. Seriously impressed with them. It took them 33 straight hours. They've been up for 40 at that point.

@@fissilepear7805 Stasis ones weren't that big of a problem, just could sometimes lock you down in a bad spot when something else was already going bad and you couldn't spawn kill them. The Solar ones just one shot you with Solar Resist from Hand Cannon range. Combine that with an unlucky timing of them spawning right when you have to get on plate and it's just terrible.

The Witness: Can kill guardians instantly with a gentle wave of the hand turning them into cheese slices. Also The Witness': Lets a fireteam do a synchronised dance routine with guns in front of it that kills it.

It's an inevitability of game design I'm afraid. But to be fair, it's also possible that The Witness just couldn't do such a display of power in the raid since it was simultaneously fighting a fireteam that mastered both light and dark while also attempting to enact The Final Shape. The raid is still tough, however. Very tough, definitely fits as a proper display of Destiny's ultimate enemy.

It's so lame. Rhulk did more and wasn't supposed to be nearly as powerful. Riven and Oryx appeared to be far more menacing and intimidating. They failed miserably at making their "ultimate enemy" appear as such.

The damage phase for the witness is one of the most chaotic and hardest to live in damage phases hands down, Rhulk just tests your positioning. One single team cleared the raid on the first day, if the timer wasn’t longer it would have been crazier than last wish clear wise

@@devinnix9071 You can't even defend this crappy boss design. It's the classic criticism of "they just stand there and get shot". All he does is shoot some beams at you that you need to dodge. It isn't intense at all. There isn't some insane mastermind mechanic like with Riven, there isn't having to run from him like with Rhulk, there isn't some grand spectacle like with Oryx, etc. The Witness is one of the lamest raid bosses in the series.

Macs team didn't and he was happy that they didn't but I wish that they did because at the end of the day, nobody will really remember if you placed 34th or 104th in the race. I'd personally be significantly more apt to take a break after top 5-10 has been decided. So I personally think staying up for 37 hours to finish higher is a bad call on their part but it is what it is.
