Daugavpils Trams

An overview of the tram (trolley) system in Daugavpils, Latvia. Four different types of ex-Soviet cars are in the video. An unusual feature of this system is the use of US style trolley poles instead of the more common bow collectors. New cars are to be delivered this October, so scenes like these will become history. The tram fleet was upgraded in 2014 with 8 71-623's and 4 71-631's, then in 2019 with 8 trams 71-911E "City Star". The Latvian trams called RVR-6M2 were decommissioned until the end of 2014.
