This young girl is hurting so others attacking her for been selfish are wrong. He is widowed that is true. However he still has the responsibilities of a father and no matter how much he wants this woman his daughter and son have to come first. You don't just introduce someone and expect instant happiness from them it doesn't work like that. Believe it or not they will feel guilty even if they like them because they feel as if they are betraying their real mom and that is one difficult emotion to get past. You don't start screaming and shouting at her, put yourself in her shoes. What you are showing her is wrong on every level. From experience, my siblings and I went to school on this particular day and while in my first lessons of the day. This girl whom I didn't normally talk to came up and asked why I was in school and I thought at the time she was a bit simple for such a stupid question. However she carried on and asked why we weren't at our mothers wedding and I stood up and slapped her face and called her a liar and she said well my mom and dad are going to it. I run out of the class room and went to find my siblings who had also by then been told what was going on. We all walked out of school and went home. As we approached the house wedding confetti was littered every where. It was true and that one event caused an absolute catastrophic reaction in all four of us. To make it even worse my stepfather had four sons of his own and one of them was the same age as me and they could go to the wedding but we weren't even asked if we minded a new step father. My middle sister ran down the main road and into the path of a big van was hit really badly landed on her head broken leg broken arm and internal bleeding, She died in hospital the next day. We imploded on each other. My baby sister's relationship with mom was fractured, my baby brother was distraught. I closed up and told my mom and new stepfather to their faces that I hated them both and as soon as I would be old enough would be gone. I had no mom now and the relationship between who at the time was my mom's new man was okay we had come from an abusive father so to see my mom happy was a good think and in one stroke they destroyed all and any feelings we had for him. Their selfishness cost me my sister and fractured us so badly we never ever were the same again. They broke all four of us one of us didn't survive and we would never ever forgive them. At 16 I moved out. Never went back and never had anything to do with any of them. So yes she is behaving like a brat but then again she isn't, she is acting on her feelings she is hurt and when someone is hurting emotionally like that give them space let them calm down do not exert yourself on them. Children learn at the parents knee make sure you teach them the correct way.
