I don't understand why Richey wasn't charged for the following reasons: 1. Ms. Wynette was found to have had intravenously fed versaid & feneren in her body when she was autopsied a year after her death. 2. If you look at the public memorial at The Ryman, pay close attention to George Richey while Lorrie Morgan is paying tribute to Tammy, she asks him would he like to say something? He does. He thanks a handful of people. Then he makes the statement that in the last 5 years he was NEVER apart from her more than 30 minutes at a time! Bingo! Right there for ALL the world to see he incriminated himself or the person(s) who did it!!! Seems to me, that warranted an interrogation of Richey, let a jury decide, or at the very least a civil suit against Richey. Perfect Example: Goldman, Brown v. (O.J.) Simpson. I just don't understand why the officials didn't jump on it?!

Peggy Hill that can't be true. I waited tables most of my adult life. I worked at a restaurant in Green Hills in Nashville on Bandywood Drive. I worked there for about 2 years. I waited on a lot of country music stars. Just a few off the top of my head were Pam Tillis, Wynonna Judd, Bill Anderson and Tammy Wynette. Tammy was someone I had wished all my life I could meet. She was with 2 of her female friends. One was Jan Howard. She was so nice. I was so nervous to walk over and get their food order but she made me feel comfortable by being down to earth like a friend I had known for years. I remember that she loved our biscuits. She said, "tell the chef he sure knows how to make a biscuit." This was somewhere betwern 95 and 98. (Pretty sure she passed away in 98). I know this bc my daughter worked there too for a while and quit bc she was pregnant. My granddaughter was born in Sept. 98. Richy wasn't with her that day. So that couldn't be true that he never left her side for more than a half hour. Where were those 2 friends who were with Tammy that day when he made that statement? Did they hear him say that? And why didn't they come forward to say they were with her that day? So many questions about this man, Richy. I have no reason to lie. She was there. She didn't look like the Tammy I had seen on tv. She looked much older and really thin. But it was her. We talked after their meal. I told her how I sang along with my mother while listening to her albums when I was a child. I remember exactly what she said. "Well I appreciate that" were her exact words. They were there for about an hour. A very nice memory for me. I have her autograph.

Upon learning this information, the girls filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against Richey and Tammy’s personal doctor. During deposition, the doctor implicated himself in a number of ways, including how he was shipping the medications to Tammy and that he had not been present when Tammy’s symptoms had become worse the night before. The doctor testified that he told Richey the night before Tammy’s death that Tammy should probably be admitted to the hospital. The doctor said that had Tammy been admitted to the hospital the night before, she would not have died. Confronted with this information, Richey agreed to an autopsy. The autopsy came back inconclusive, primarily because it is impossible to determine the level of drugs in a person’s system more than a year after their death. Instead, the autopsy said that Tammy had died of cardiac arrhythmia, meaning her heart stopped, with no explanation of why it happened. The daughters later dropped Richey from the lawsuit and settled with the doctor.

I have seen it myself , people save and earn big money only to fall in the hands of a new spouse! In April 1999, her body was exhumed from her crypt in an attempt to settle a dispute over how she died. A new autopsy was conducted on her a week after three of her daughters filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her doctor and her husband/manager, George Richey, claiming they were responsible for her death 12 months earlier. The coroner declared that she died from cardiac arrhythmia. In May 1999, George Richey was dropped from the wrongful death lawsuit because he was preparing to sue them for frivolous litigation. Wynette's daughter, Jackie Daly, sold her story to Star magazine before asking Richey the "questions" she wanted answered about her mother's death. Richey never was personally asked these questions; the daughters sought solace in the press to garner these intimate personal details of their mother.

Big difference between being an addict and being dependent. Tammy was dependent. She didn't go looking for the junk, it followed her. After anyone takes morphine for as long as she did can not just stop taking it. The body becomes dependent on it and will make a person's life a living hell if it doesn't get the stuff that the dependent person has been taking. All narcotics have this affect on a person that become dependent on the drug to be able to function. I get really pissed of when I hear people call her a junkie. No way. She was intelligent, beautiful and on her good days, a very cheery and positive person.

Just more proof that parents need to be implicit in their wills regarding their children. Subsequent marital partners, especially where large estates are concerned, are not going to put you first - just saying from experience in my own family and two other friends. Look after your children before a new partner when it comes to your estate.

I’m an advisor and this all could have easily been avoided with a QTIP trust for the non insurance assets which is an extremely basic estate planning strategy for situations where there are second marriages with kids from a precious marriage. The whole life insurance being brought back into the estate is stupid. Another basic thing Tammy’s attorney/ advisor should have recommended was purchasing that policy in an irrevocable life insurance trust. That way is bypasses the estate, escapes estate taxes, passes to the intended heirs as they can’t be changed, and because it was irrevocable it would have passed directly to the intended heirs... Tammy’s kids not that jerk husband. I’m a little surprised at the small policy amount for such a big star but she probably had major underwriting issues and couldn’t get more. The personal items should have been added to the back of her will and been on record with the attorney. This case sounds so bad and the attorney so incompetent that there must be something fishy going on here. They should go after the attorney and her advisor for malpractice. Easy win for them that way.

I took care of my Mom the last 2-1/2 yrs. of her life. No help at all from my siblings and there visits few and far between. She passed away in 2006. She left her bank account to me, but I divided it between the 5 of us out of the kindness of my heart. When all was said and done they threatened to sue me, as they thought there should have been more money. All I can say is I got something in that 2-1/2 yrs. alone with my Mom, that was worth more than any money this world could provide. I kept my relationships with them for 10 more yrs. then I couldn't take anymore. I still have contact with my youngest brother, but I love them all.

I watched “The Will” show and feel really bad for Ms. Wynette’s children. It seems Ms. Wynette’s life was very difficult and that her children tried to help her. It was clear that she wanted to leave certain personal items specifically to each child upon her death. They never got to know what was meant for them. Also, their mother’s name and personal items were sold off and the remainder burned in a house fire. This is so sad to me, this history should have been passed down through the generations rather than sold to the highest bidder. Most of us don’t have famous family members, so we get to keep these items for ourselves-they didn’t have this luxury.

Also, the second wife was on the show. First she said that the stepfather never needed Tammy’s money, and that it was ridiculous to think he was after money. Yet she says later that Tammy’s name and belongings “had” to be sold to pay bills. Yet they could donate to the hall of fame. So which is it? The second wife was so beyond smug about the whole thing. She seemed take joy in what happened.

I know been there done that. My own mom's brother lived right here in town NEVER called her, went to see her, checked on her, & her sister would visit him right here in town but NEVER go see my mom. I took care of my mom for the last 11-years. Then they (her brother/sister) find out her health was going down...somehow "brainwashed" her into doing things liked signing over EVERYTHING such as making themselves POA, putting their names on her checking/savings account, etc. to them while leaving me & my daughter with disabilities setting with NOTHING! This is NOT the first time both of them have done underhanded "things" to take money/belongings that rightfully should have went to me & my kids.

Katherine Gibbons U r right I totally blame my so-called mom. She knew what they were like, what they had done to others & let them do it. But I was outnumbered, got nasty threatening phone calls, trashed all over town. Why THEY (her sister/uncle) even keep record of everything they have done so they can collect at the end. But then again she was NEVER a mother....pawned me off on my loving grandma to raise & told me even my daughter IF abortion was legal back in the day she would have had one with me. I was also physically/mentally abused all my life....my dad was an alcoholic. That is what I am dealing with stress, hurt, & psychologically destroyed for life.

It is not smart to wait untill your dead to let others destroy your will. Sell and give everything to your children or inheritor before you die. But I think people hold on to everything because they want to keep the power over others right to the very end. But this is why your legacy becomes trashed and your legacy becomes the thing that destroys your family. Give it to your children before you die so you can witness how your fruit becomes their fruit. This way you can share the fruit together.

Richey & her Pittsburg doctor were sued for wrongful death & settled. He got away with it by calling his lawyer first with Tammy dead on the couch all day. Then, he got her Dr. to fly in ASAP to sign the death certificate without autopsy. Then, got her over to the funeral home for embalming. When they dis interred her after a year, only two drugs were found and they couldn't be measured due to embalming fluid. She trusted Richey to change her will or she was too dopey to know what she was signing. He handled her business stuff.

No child is entitled to a parent's money or estate. The parent worked and earned it. Just bc youre a child doesnt mean you should just get it. If there is a will and everything is put into it, ex property ,money etc. Then, thats who the person chose to give it to. No one is entitled to anything. If they think he murdered their mother, they should focus on that not worrying about money first. Seems all the people in her life were full of greed.
@sylphsis
@sylphsis 5 жыл бұрын
They were in the will. Their mother wanted them to have much more than they received and that's a fact. And who told you they worried about money first, they always mentioned their mother's clothes, photos, their baby books etc...and the first thing they did after her death was to try and put Richey in prison and not ask where the money is. Obviously you are misled by "what it looks like", it was Richey who was the greedy one, he married her because he knew she was addicted and would be easy to control, he never refused her drugs, as he said to her girlfriends "to keep her happy" and he was the one who beat her up in that accident in the 70's and when she wanted to leave him, he threatened to write a book and tell the world "what a whore she is". So she stayed with him. Remember, this was the 70s and she had already had 4 unsuccessful marriages. George Jones was the only one who truly loved her, but he was lucky with Nancy, who also loved his money, but loved him as well, so she tried to keep him alive and healthy for as long as possible. Tammy was not so lucky. Richey never loved her. He only loved the money. A year after Tammy's death, he's with the young blond Sheila, and now he's dead too, and guess who wears Tammy's jewels? Well, isn't that a shame and worth the fight? I wouldn't care if I were accused of being greedy by people like you, I would too fight for my mum's things. Think about it before you throw stones.
@suzannedavila1446
@suzannedavila1446 5 жыл бұрын
@@sylphsis not throwing stones. Just simply stating no child is entitled to their parents fortune thats all. If she gave it to them , her husband whoever then thats who she wanted to have it. As far as the drama surrounding her drug use or him using her idk their personal situation so im not going to debate that. I was just saying if your parents have money it doesn't mean u get it because youre their child. Thats all.
