I have a 1971 SeaGrave Fire Engine. It has a Detroit Diesel 8-71 with 5 speed Spicer/ Dana Transmission that I have overhauled the clutch and transmission on. Would Love to have you come film yourself Driving her. Tac. has a little RED arrow on gage For the shift point. I keep a trickle charger on the two BIG heavy duty Batteries she has on each side. Have you ever driven a Fire Engine. You can now show everyone on U-Tube that you have driven a Fire Rig. Anytime you and your husband and especially your kids getting in a cab or jump backwards facing jump seats (have seat belts) Your kids can even blow a small coaster Siren have under Dash in the cab, as you drive, and no other vehicle hears it. But to your kids it would sound real. I like how you show the work of a dump truck drivers day goes, especially going into new Yards you have never gone to, how you enter, the process of start to finish. Hope your kids get the great gifts Santa will bring on Christmas for your great family. Thank you so much for what you do, and film it.

When you talked of bags,,, I remember loading bags into a truck and pup,,,, but,, they were paper bags of fertilizer,, 100# each. Forklift would set a pallet on the back end of the dump and then trundle off to get the next. While I grabbed each bag and carried them forward and stacked them,, in time to kick the empty pallet off and the new pallet placed. 30 tons that AM? I LIKE the 400 ton crane loading MUCH better.

Well, the crane operator don't impress me much, given the issues he's having coping with the pendulosity* of those soil bags. * Pendulosity - The propensity of a load on a crane to behave like a pendulum bob. Remember this and you can sound like you know stuff. :)

Contaminated dirt is hauled to a treatment facility for cleaning. The one I'm familiar with is in Eastern OR. If the railroads go on strike then that means the dump trucks will be hauling direct to the facility. Contaminated dirt isn't fun, depending on the contamination. They won't be bagging the dirt if it's to be hauled direct. That means the dump trucks will have to clean their boxes at the start and then cover them in plastic sheeting so the dirt can be loaded in. The dirt then gets covered and you get to go for a drive. Depending on the contamination could also affect your route, the times you drive and where you can stop.

I used to haul "dirty dirt". never in bags just bulk in the trailer. we would line the dump trailer with plastic and take it to either a landfill or an incinerator. one place was a superfund site that went off and on was a Dupont plant
