Some of the hardest to find destinations are usually the most enthralling. Was having a terrible time trying to find where exactly the entrance was to the dump site, so called the customer. Had to go through two gates to get past an electrical sub station, but wound up on top of deserted mountain (at least in Texas) over looking a huge lake. Amazing scenery. When I was unloaded and back on the road, called the guy again and told him thank you, as it was one of the coolest places I'd been to.

Ma'am, the three biggest lies in trucking are: 1., "Plenty of room", followed by, 2,. "Can't miss it", and, 3., "Pays good". That one scene in your video reminded me of one of a mid-last century baseball player named Yogi Berra's famous sayings: "When you come to a fork in the road - take it". [Another would be: "It's like déjå vu all over again".] Oh, and one bit of advice for anyone who wants to try shoving 80,000 lbs up and down the highways and byways that I was given when I learned to truck: "A thousand times too slow - only once too fast". I've seen the results of too fast more than once.

I suppose some viewers who are not into trucking don't know how bridge weight laws work. For those not truckers, many states allow more weight based how many axles you have. Also how far apart they are. I didn't blame you for being a bit nervous about backing off to the side where it sure looked like it could be soft

Yep, seen 'em go off on a job site awhile back out east of Sacramento by the raceway. Can't remember the owner-operator's name, but boy was he P.O.'ed. Especially since Mike S., the owner of "S. Trucking" who we were pulling for (double bottoms) had just been up there and told us how "Safe" it was.

I work for a neighboring county road department and we dump at peoples houses sometimes, usually after pulling shoulders, and some of the places they want us to dump are mind bogling. Very early in my trucking career I drove for a company that had a very large fleet of day cab Macks pulling 39 & 40 foot frameless dumps. We ran just about anything from coal to rock/stone to power plant ash as well as pretty much anything else. Most of our drivers were decent guys and girls just trying to make a living. However...we also had quite a few hot heads that were always getting into arguments with the load out staff at our shippers and receivers. A couple times a week if you were in the right place at the right time you would hear one of those jackasses get kicked out or even barred. It was a never ending soap opera with that same crew of loud mouths.
