He’s right about the gamekeeper part of it,, it’s such a hard demanding but rewarding job. But like he said they don’t see the hoppers been filled up in the heavy rain and high winds, the trapping and snaring, putting up the bird pens and maintaining them, installing the water feeding systems, the nights out in all weathers keeping an eye out for mr fox, the long long hard days in all weathers, the list goes on and the main thing that people don’t know is that most gamekeepers don’t actually get to shoot the birds on shoot day BUT after all that it’s a very rewarding job and a great feeling when the guns have had a great days shooting and that’s all made possible by the GAME KEEPER! 👍👍💯💯

Dave, there are three or four posts here that I am surprised not to have seen before. And, I know we take th P out of each other, but not dementia; too much red wine perhaps. All are wonderfully filmed and capture the days as they should be captured for fun, respect of what you are doing, respect for the quarry, safety and good sportsmanship. You did not shoot too badly either! (One day I will give you a long-overdue compliment). I really enjoyed the delightful way that Rachel demonstrated pleasure, camaraderie and accuracy. She even picked up a bird or two and took them to the game cart - to teach you old buggers a lesson?? If I were to ask her to come to Devon for a bit of rough ......shooting, what chance? Finally, how really lovely to (at long last) see a flatcoat picking up in this film. ( there you are; I have fed you a line : a flatcoat picking up??)

Great video, wonderfully produced. It does however hammer home the difference between the traditional farm shoots and the big commercial days when 175 bags are considered small. I hope you have a reliable way of putting all those birds to good use - there is a lot of talk of shoots burying / incinerating the birds as the market for game is so bad at the moment - this makes all of us look bad. Still thoroughly enjoyed the vid though and great to see such skill with those high birds. All the best.

An excellent film and most enjoyable as are all the film's you post. I don't know if you have a target audience but have you ever thought of doing a presentation on shooting that is at the other end of the financial scale? I Belong to a d i y syndicate where we have a great time and it probably costs me less for the season than just one of your days. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

@@DaveCarrieShooting Yes, I am certain through your prospective it is just that. Social hierarchy appears to be quite important to those involved in your foray of poor shooting. We that only have those that aspire to be a Kings, and a Constitution and a armed public to prevent such a thing, may think the lot of you are snobs squabbling for the scraps of a King.
