Which is insane because most of our media even sitcoms follow the same tradition of heros for thousands of years. The protagonist enters a Situation that changed their normal life The protagonist is returned to that same state but has learned a lesson before commerical or has overcome a trial making them more resilient. Simpsons for example does this alot. Luke Skywalker from star wars. I personally was raised by Tv and film. Growing up with home alone and spy kids made me enjoy the idea of actually putting in effort and going against the grain to pull off some extraordinary. Now we just have Mary sues and people who can't understand or even empathize true difficulty. very rarely do I see people celebrate actual overcoming of hardships. You know what would help.... Let's induce homelessness into all the people who don't leave home after 24. If they can't find a job or graduate with honors, let them go hungry on the streets or suck dick for money. They are disgrace to their family and their dreams and passions are worthless, you need to do what you have to and your dreams come seccondary. If you never get to fulfill your dreams, too bad. Other people depend on you too much, and if you fail them, you don't deserve to live. They don't deserve their love or kindness and therefore they belong to the streets. You're not anyone unless you have a decent job that makes your parents proud. And if you can't make your parents proud, then you belong to the streets. Art and creative writing is pointless nowadays, no one reads anymore. And most people are so creatively bankrupt that's they make artistic xerox copies of one another. Politics, the inetrney, sci fi novels, and the like have had the worst influence on millenials and the subsequent Gen z generation. Fuck dreams, fuck art and fuck peoples creativity and identities. We just do what we have to and if we can't we deserve to die or live and suffer in the streets. You have to do everything you can to be a winner, even if you're not happy doing what you do. @@YT1300MF That's because even in the 80s and 90s, the Christian puritanism that fuelled the 'video nasties' and 'explicit lyrics' moral panics was seriously uncool. It came from the right-wing, and the perennial left-wing establishment in media and the arts were predisposed to disregard it as much as possible. Ignoring it cost them nothing socially either; no social media to hound them etc. Nowadays, the puritanism comes from the new left-wing secular religion of intersectional social justice and 'wokeism' - which is the faith _du jour_ amongst those same leftist media elites. Hence why they listen to them - they don't want to get bad-boy points on Twitter and in their social circles, so they cave to save face. This situation in a nutshell is basically wokesters going: "No! Bad black man! Know your place and go back to telling jokes about white people! Don't make me get the whip out boy!" Shows how much they really care about black people doesn't it? The part that really got me in the list of demands was: "Create a new fund to specifically develop trans and non-binary talent." This is literally a shake down by woke activists! "You don't want to be called transphobic? Then you better run those pockets, Netflix. Don't make us get the media to kneecap a bitch." The level of entitlement is unreal.

you'd thing if the talent was there there woudl be no need to have these " funds" but that's not what they want now do they :p, these people dont care about what dave said(many of them probably didnt event watch thewhole thing), they are just annoyed that he gets ot hsay anything at all while being payed more than they do.

For real they’re strong arming Netflix to give them special treatment and funding so that they can be included without any real work or talent. “Basically gave them an ultimatum of give us free shit or we drag your name through the mud because you didn’t side with us”

Lol, the opening almost sounds like a drunk Styx waxing lyrical on moral panics. Well played Gundam.

My first two years in college I was in a women's only dorm. When workmen came do to work, they'd have to yell "Man on the floor" before entering a hallway. Just so no one would accidentally flash the guy, not because anyone was scared of them. It was a courtesy. No one got bent out of shape they didn't dig up a female plumber or electrician in a small town in West Texas to handle issues.

Can’t be funny, can’t be rational, can’t be “considerate” enough, and can’t even mind our own business. It’s hard to be apolitical and just survive in this dumb world without all this nonsense shoved into faces. I continue to salute your effort Gundam to make these digestible and entertaining as always.

We’ve honestly just come full circle from the 1920’s the “red decade”.

When did a 15 minute eulogy for a transwoman who committed suicide after being harassed for being open minded and defending her idol count as hate speech?

If the media is willing to lie about a comedy special, then they'll be willing to lie about anything.
