Except he forget to mention slaves were never stolen from Africa. They were purchased. They were purchased because a market was created by Africans. They sold each other into slavery and still do today. But that’s not convenient to the narrative. Not saying that makes owning a slave OK. It’s horrible and that’s why we had a civil war. But black millionaires like Dave need to get over blaming modern white people.
@sherylF5610
@sherylF5610 4 жыл бұрын
@@oneaburns Yes there were Africans who sold their own people but that was after and during times when others, non Africans, were also taking people as slaves. I'm pretty sure that those who were sold or captured didn't make any distinction about it. Their lives were stolen from them either way. So let's say that horrible rotten evil people stole the lives of others for money. Honestly, I still can't believe that happened and that it still does today, in other shapes and forms. It's vomitus to even think of a person retched enough to enslave another person.

People arent offended by the just act of kneeling. There is context to it. When you kneel during a time of respect for out nation, and the intention of the people kneeling are to disrespect that time of honor for our nation, all for a political and social agenda, its offensive to people, and rightfully so. We all know there is a time and place for Protest. Disrespecting our flag and Anthem to get across a political and Social message is distasteful to a lot of people. Same as it would be in any other moment of reverence... Lets say you are at a Funeral for your Father. You are sitting there with your family saying a Prayer to honor your father, and a bunch of people come up and disrespect your Father's grave during that time to protest something your Father did while he was alive... Would you feel disrespected and offended by this? Point is, there are times and places to protest things. And using someone elses time for honoring something they love to protest and show disrespect, is not the time or place. And many people agree with this.. Do I think people get offended too easily these days? Of course... But our Patriotism and honor for our Anthem and Flag are things that should not be disrespected and its justifiable to be offended.. Now people getting offended over a Comedy Act? Over jokes? Yes, that is something Ill never understand. People are incredibly petty these days. But I think too many people are over-simplifying the kneeling thing. The Flag and Anthem have very deep meaning to a lot of people. Kaepernick openly wore Anti-Cop(pig socks) and Anti-America(Fidel Castro shirt) during his protests which made things even more offensive to many people.

as a white person, I don't feel offended. but I just find it kinda boring and repetitive to listen to the same old story of slavery and colonialism. it's total nonsense. why? because slavery, colonialism and imperialism have existed in every single culture and civilization in human history. it wasn't something unique or special. it was human nature. it was my tribe vs. your tribe type of mentality. survival of the fittest. this was the rule of the game and still is to some extent today. so this means, black people that suffered because of slavery isn't something special. everyone regardless of skin colour did suffer opression in the past. and some people still do suffer because of what they are today. Kurds in Irak and Syria. Yezidies. Uyghurs. Tibetans.

He's also separated from the truth. 360,222 white Union soldiers that never owned a slave and hated slavery - died to free the slaves. He should at least be aware of the truth.

@MUHAMMAD ALI A.H. You're as much of a disingenuous liar as Chapelle. You should try reading Lincoln's speeches to both Congress, and to the American people trying to convince them to fight against the evil of slavery. ALL of those men knew why they were fighting - and it wasn't for jobs. It was to end something they knew was inherently evil and had no place in a free country.

I came from Lily white middle America and I enlisted when I graduated high school where I found out it doesn't matter what color your skin is when you're relying on the person next to you to stay alive. You can be black, white, yellow, red, brown, or purple for that matter, you both cry salt and bleed red and when that fellow next to you is keeping you alive it don't matter what color his skin is he's your best friend and you're his. I think the problem with America is people forget that in the end we're all humans with the same emotions, same red blood, and same aspirations, the main one of which is to survive and thrive. I think everybody should be stuck in a foxhole with someone of a different race under fire so they can learn that it doesn't matter what the man looks like he's still a man and when you're both in danger you're both best friends. I also honestly believe these cops who brutalize blacks have never served in the military overseas or they would have some respect for their fellow Americans

An ingenious joke. I think "The Bird Revelation" is Chappelle's greatest stand up special. An absolute note-perfect masterpiece, from start to finish.
