I took the night off work years ago to see the Hoodu Gurus at Heaven in Adelaide - even though I was told I couldn't get the night off. Got found out, but no consequences. worth it! Great show. They sounded really, really good. Songs are timeless, still love them.

Love this deep dive with Dave. Saw them at Thirsty's in Mobile Alabama on their first US Tour and that was it! Favorite band all time. So many great shows through the years. Can't wait to see them again. Thanks for sharing!

Definately one of my favourite bands and sooo good live at a festival in 90's ❣

Love this guy and his music. Dave is a pioneer and legend of the Australian music scene and the Hoodoo Gurus have helped shape this country's soundtrack. 'What's My Scene' and 'Bittersweet' & 'Miss Free love' phenomenal songs and Music Television Mainstays. Great questions by Jane too. Thank you for sharing this wonderful interview with us all!

Instantly takes me back to the 80s with the whole HG vibe, with the cavalcade of songs you could really tap your feet to. Also had that really good classic guitar sound and a great live act. Must admit I have been overseas for more than 30 years, but as a kid growing up, we really were spoilt for choice with bands like the HG, the Oils, Rose Tattoo, the Johnnies, and the rest, who could turn it on live every week down the pub. Thanks Dave!!!

A fascinating watch. Left with the feeling there is a LOT more to find out about Dave the man ....... particularly on a personal note. That aside, great to relive the enjoyment he has given me since seeing their first ever gigs in Melbourne in the early 80s. Thx.

A beautiful man who presents and represents without needing to do either. He's safe and comfortable in who he is without ever having to mention it. As a queer person, I find this especially inspiring.

I had a friend who roadied for them for a couple of gigs when has 17 or 18, he said Dave Faulkner was one of the rudest, arrogant pricks he ever met. I was really disappointed as I loved their music and still do,

Great Interview. Mental As Anything? Apart from a few good songs, they’re not in the same league as Hoodoo Gurus.

I wondered that too. I do like the Mentals but they don't have such an extensive catalogue of great songs when perhaps other bands do.

@@bealetm Yes. I agree. It’s not that I don’t like them. They had some great songs. I just don’t put them up there with The Easybeats.
