There are actually two themes going on with the voices heard in the World Between Worlds. When we first start to hear them, as Ezra is about to go through the portal, we hear lines such as, "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is," followed by Obi-wan saying, "What is this place?" From there, we begin to hear lines that tell us what the Force is, and what it can do, such as, "Just when you think you understand the Force, you find out how little you actually know," and finally the famous, "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power." As Ezra approaches the portal Morai is sitting on, the one where he will see Ahsoka in and ultimately save her through, the lines begin to change, shifting to things like, "Death is a natural part of life," "Whomever you're waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But there is someone who still could," "This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi; you're my only hope," and, "You never would have made it as Obi-wan's padawan, but you might make it as mine." All of these are targetted specifically at Ezra, designed to inform him of exactly where he is, and why he is where he is. All the voices from when he comes through the portal is letting him know that he is in a place where the Cosmic Force exists, and that he can perform miracles here. After that, the voices are telling him exactly what he's there for: Kanan is gone, and there's nothing he can do about that, but there's still someone who can be saved, and he will be the one who will save her. After that, though, the voices we hear changes. They're no longer information being given to Ezra; now they're reactions to the thoughts and feelings of Ezra, Ahsoka, and Morai. For instance, when Ahsoka thinks of Anakin and what he's become, we hear Vader say, "You don't know the power of the Dark Side," when Ahsoka introduces Morai as an old friend, we hear, "I am the Daughter," and finally, when Ezra starts to think he can save Kanan, we hear Kanan say, "Need a ride?" I wonder if this was the Cosmic Force essentially saying to everyone, "You're done here. Time to go now." One thing I thought of, when you mentioned that Dave Filoni said anyone who tried to leap through a portal would destroy themselves, was how Ahsoka informed Ezra that she couldn't return with him. Had she tried to do so, she would have been destroyed the moment she went through the portal Ezra came in through. She was able to return through the portal she emerged from because that was her time, and she needed to return through it. Somehow, despite not knowing where she was or what, exactly, the World Between Worlds was, she knew this. I am beginning to think that her quest for knowledge of the Force had already begun well before she became Fulcrum and was picked up again after she left Malachor. If I'm right about this, it gives a whole new meaning to the line, "I am no Jedi," that she said to Vader. We all assumed she said that because she left the Order, and so didn't consider herself one of them anymore. But what if she said it because it was literally true? She didn't consider herself a Jedi, because she had already grown beyond Jedi teachings? Which also makes me really wish her conversation with the Bendu had made it into the show. "Goodbye, then, Ahsoka Tano. *Former* Jedi Knight."

Just to give some context to my statement above, a wee transcript of the voices heard, the order they're said, and when they occure: (As Ezra comes through the portal) "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is." Yoda "What is this place?" Obi-wan "A conduit through which the entire Force of the universe flows." Qui-Gon "Just when you think you understand the Force, you find out how little you actually know." Ahsoka "Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose." Yoda "What you need you already have, unfortunately you seem to be letting it all go." Obi-wan "I won't let him lose his way. Not like I did." Kanan "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field, created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." Obi-wan (As Ezra wanders the paths) "Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force." Yoda "I see your eyes. You already know the truth." Maz Kanata "The time to fight is now!" Jyn Erso "Show me." Kylo Ren "We'll see each other again. I believe that." Rey "I will finish what you started." Kylo Ren "The belonging you seek is not behind you." Maz Kanata (As Ezra approaches the portal with Morai) "This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi; you're my only hope." Leia "You never would have made it as Obi-wan's padawan. But you might make it as mine." Anakin These are just the voices that I can hear clearly. There are other voices there, but are either indistinct, or are drowned out by other voices. As an aside, I find it interesting that of all the voices heard, we never once hear Luke's.

World between worlds is a place where the (cosmic) force binds everything together. Person needs to respect what it truly means, like Ahsoka and Ezra did there. It is not bound by time. Those voices that Ezra heard are meaningful events in that universe considering the force itself. Sidious could cause serious destruction if he enters that world.

For me the theme of the quotes in the world between worlds is that they were moments where they were referencing the Force itself either directly or abstractly. Yoda’s first line describes the Force divine simplicity as expressed through the innocence of children. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon’s exchange on Mortis could be seen as a commentary on the Force itself. All the quotes to me either reflect a comment on the nature of the Force as expressed through the situation or that the quotes are from times when characters become an avatar of the Force - like Jyn’s “the time to fight is now” line. It is a spectacular montage whatever the theme is. Thanks for the video!! It’s fantastic!!!!

My interpretation, was that it was "Closed Loop". He was able to save Ahsoka, because he always saved Ahsoka at that point. Vader witnessed Ahsoka fade into the force in that moment. You can't change the past, and its probably mostly to 'witness' the past and future.

It is very easy to understand. Everything Ezra sees in the world beyond world is happening in real time, there is no time in there, so this explains the visions, the voices and the "jump back in time to pull Ahsoka", but it actually no time, everything in that world happens without no time

Hey Force Within TV I think that Ezra is counting on Sabine to get him from the World Between Worlds since Sabine understood it, and Ahsoka was inside the World Between Worlds. They could combine their knowledge to get Ezra.

The world between worlds seems like it opens portals to key events, those events can be manipulated by a traveller in the WBW as we saw with Ahsoka. However they come with consequences. Ahsoka reakized if she returned she would have changed events that led to her rescue as an ex. Its also why Palpatine was so interested in the WBW he could have watched the Death Stars destruction, returnined to his current time ordering the flaw to be fixed and then went to Tatooine to capture luke and make him his new apprentice.

Going back and listening to the voices again, I see two themes, rather than one. The first is about the nature of the force, with quotes such as "luminous beings are we", and "the force is what gives a Jedi his power", highlighting its mystery. The second is the lesson Ezra learns in letting go of Kanan: you must accept what has happened, with quotes such as "learn to let go of everything you fear to lose". There is also a third theme, of Anakin/Vader in general, which pertains to Ahsoka rather than Ezra. That's what I see anyway. (Force Within, if you see this comment, I recently put up a video trying to explain the Mortis arc from the Clone Wars, and I'd love it if you took a look to consider it for your newsletter. Thanks!)

Question of the day: I think that Ezra didn't make a time travel, he rather just opened the portal to change one event because that's what Morai wanted to Ezra to do so that Ashoka would survive and live on

It would almost be more accurate to almost see it as the memeory of the universe, or cosmic force. You can see and watch all points in history, or at least ones that are forces nexuses, but you cannot chamge them without destroying yourself or the future from that point. Yes Ezra saved Ashoka from vader, but at the same time it was a predestination paradox, after the fight we saw Ashoka descend the stairs, therefore she had to survive that means something had to intervene. Ezra had always saved, will always have being going to save her, and changed nothing by doing what he did. In a way it cemented the fact that he would find the temple and access the world between worlds, the force assiting him to do so was just it complete events as they had happened. If you were to change anything in that sort of paradoxical set up then you destroy the written "future" from that point and prevent yourself from the circumstances that would allow you to change them, canceling you making those changes, You would destroy the version of yourself that had made the change. It is accessing every point in time, but from what we have seen and from what Filoni said, the world between worlds is almost like a completely prewritten destiny, or fate. What people chose to do, and what they did or decide to do is written if you will so that from the end of time it looks like a narritive on how you arrive at the end point. From the begining of time it would appear that there is no freewill or choice as everything is written, but it is because the world between worlds is outside of time, and the choice you make is your free will, but you can see yourself make that choice, doing anything else but make that choice would fracture everything from that point and when it rebuilt itself the you that inteffered would not be there. You have free will in the present to make the choices that you have to, or want to, but once out of the present those choices are solidified like temporal amber, It's a rigid and unbending form of temporal theory and yes Time travel-ish.

Based on TheOneAboveAll's comment on the will of the force allowing ezra to save Ahsoka, the voices heard in the World Between World's is showing the voices of these charcters who have huge implifications for the future. Perhaps it is the Will of the Force showing itself throughout time and space to ezra so he can gain a sense of where he is or even know what his greater purpose is in the future. But I dont know and I 💡 it was just the voices to help ezra become more familar with this place

I believe that the World Between Worlds is a point of convergence where the universe at every instant in time is joined together. This is a place where you can see the past, present, and future, where individuals from any point in time can interact with each other. From here, they can even influence events in time. However, there's one critical difference from traditional time travel: They are still tied by the Force to their own time, and each individual's definition of present time has never changed. In traditional time travel, you would have returned to your own time at the exact instant you left it. Not so here - in the WBW the clock is still ticking, and the point you left it is already in the past. When Ezra returned to his time, Sabine had already been captured and rescued, and the crew were all at the portal waiting for him to return. When Ahsoka returned to her time, the temple was already destroyed and Vader was leaving the place. It was all after the instant they left it. Ezra didn't have trouble influencing Ahsoka's timeline because he was still within the WBW, and the connection to his own time isn't severed. If Ahsoka had indeed tried to follow Ezra back to his time, however, I believe it would sever her connection to her own timeline once she stepped through his portal completely, and that would destroy her. Also, I don't believe that Ezra had always been meant to save Ahsoka. I don't believe the timeline is fixed. "Always in motion the future is", Yoda frequently says. Perhaps there is more to it? The future is always in motion, but that "future" differs from every individual's point of view. So technically, anyone's future can be changed from the WBW. It must be legitimately possible to influence the entire timeline of the universe or Darth Sidious would never have taken an interest in this place. I like to believe the original timeline had always meant to see Ahsoka dead. When Ezra saved her, he changed the timeline to one where Ahsoka lives. This change rippled down in time, changing the rest of history but thankfully not causing any grandfather paradox. I think Filoni already had the WBW in mind all this time, and since way back then in the Season Two finale, he was already showing us the modified "Ahsoka lives!" timeline. He never planned to show us the original timeline where Ahsoka died.

I would think of it as more of a Force Tesseract... you can influence it but it maintains the control of power and limits what you can and can't do while interacting within it. However, with that thought a ripple at a certain point could amplify over space-time, so thought not literal time-travel isn't allowed interacting with the WBW can still allow time to be manipulated. I'm wondering if we will get a canon "ripple" from Ezra saving Ahsoka.

The voices Ezra heard are people who Ezra met and people who he will meet in the future. However, they never met Jyn which I thought he would. This should have been people that Ezra has met and will meet. So instead of Jyn Erso, the voices should have been Han Solo and Saw Gerrara. That way, Ezra had met Kannan, Ahsoka, Leia, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Saw and Darth Vader (Anakin). While the people who Ezra will meet in the future who be Han Solo, Poe, Mas Kanata, Qui-Gon as a Force spirit who will help Ezra complete his training by mastering both the Lightside and the Darkside of the Force for Ezra to become a Gray Jedi. He will know Rey because she is Ezra and Sabine's daughter, and for Kylo (Ben), he is Ezra and Sabine's godson, who Leia and Han asked them on Ezra and Sabine's wedding if they want to be Ben's godparents and they both said yes to accept the responsibility. That's what I believe to be the reason.

I consider the world-between-worlds more of a place out of time. Once into the world, you can only leave through the portal you used to enter. Third, while you can view other moments in time, you can't fully enter them. Ezra skirted that rule by only reaching in and pulling Ahsoka through. Time continued to move while Ezra and Ahsoka were gone, so when they returned to their respective time-lines, the appropriate amount of time had passed. Darth Vader had left the scene, so Ahsoka was alone.

The World Between Worlds is meant for gaining knowledge. Though Ezra was able to save Ahsoka, at that moment, Ahsoka's fate was still unknown. So pulling her out of time had not ripple effect on future events.; Not like if Ezra would have done in saving Kanaan. And because of that, Ezra realized his parent's death while fighting the Empire, was the first step in his becoming a Jedi, and helping to create the Rebel Alliance.

I'm not sure why Ezra heard these voices and quotes I'm particular, but I don't think that Ezra or anyone else in the WBW actually has the ability to change the past or future. I think what will happen or has happened will always be that way. For example, I don't believe that there was a different timeline where Vader killed Ahsoka, but Ezra changed that. I believe Ezra always grabbed Ahsoka. If someone like Palpatine was able to enter the WBW, and they tried to manipulate events it would be their downfall. Furthermore, I believe that I takes someone like Ahsoka or Ezra, who is not completely entrenched in the light or the dark to enter completely. That is why Palpatine needed Ezra so badly.

Here's a question I want to ask you all. If you could see YOUR own future, would you change it? If you could see and perhaps feel your future, would you change it? Ezra Bridger is my most favorite character and I'm glad he survived. If it wasn't the manipulation of palpatine from that portal Ezra was seeing, I think it's possible Ezra would be able to save Kanan from death, but unfortunately, Ezra was their on that day from that explosion. R.I.P Calub Dume. "We'll see each other again, I promise. - Kanan Jarrus. Yes. I do hope and believe that Hera and Kanan we'll see each other once again when her time comes.

Well I think it Not being 100% timetravel makes sense, because let’s be real for a second, I think time travel would probably ruin Star Wars as a whole, Why? Because imagine how easy it would be for Ezra to go to the past where palpatene was fighting mace Windu, before anakin gets the chance to chop off mace’s hand, Ezra blocks him of and kills palpatene and the empire is never created. Do you see what I mean? It would ruin the story as we know it.

They don't even need to return to it to undo the sequel trilogy. The very fact that Ahsoka is alive could mean a second timeline was created with the ultimate end of snoke not being created (if the strandcast clone in mandalorian was a hint as to grogus destiny being snokes creation). In this second timeline Ahsoka could serve as a means of maintaining the balance that Anakin brought by living up to her codename of Fulcrum. Think of the force like a seesaw, Anakin brought balance to the seesaw but as Luke said in tlj there was balance for a time before it tipped to darkness. Ahsoka's job in the new separate timeline then is to unknowingly move people and things around to maintain the balance. For instance without Ahsoka being alive in the Mandalorian and if believing grogu is needed to create snoke then Mando doesn't get sent to Ahsoka meaning less chance of entering a contract with Boba since Mando isn't sent to tython. It would mean Gideon likely gets grogu some other way as he was tracking the ship. Without boba and fennic, Mando likely dies infiltrating the imperial base. Even if he survives there's less chance of infiltrating Gideon's ship without boba. Even if he infiltrates it then he likely gets killed by the darktrooper without the spear Ahsoka gave him. Even if he survives then he likely gets killed by Gideon without the spear. And even if he survives all this then without grogu having contacted Luke on tython then the team is likely to be killed by the darktroopers as Luke likely wouldn't show up. In the end Grogu could be sent to exegol if that's what the plan was, snoke is created and then takes command of the first order (we don't know when he took command). In this new separate timeline we could see Luke starting his academy earlier meaning an entire generation of Jedi are created before Ben and the events of the sequel trilogy are vastly affected since Ben may not fall. Plus we could see the introduction of mara jade since there have been rumours (although they could be false).

But Ahsoka was always going to live. It's like Harry Potter 3. It's a single timeline time loop

@@Dylan_Production until rebels and the mandalorian there was no evidence of her being brought back in canon. There's absolutely no reference to her in the sequel trilogy except for her voice speaking to Rey thereby implying that by that point she is dead. The shows from the point Ahsoka was brought back can exist in a grey area of it could be a single timeline or it could be a divergent timeline since there isn't enough evidence either way. So it could be like the Harry potter timeturner timeline or it could be like the endgame or agents of shield style branching timeline (AOS was originally part of the MCU timeline before splitting). A branching timeline wouldnt even count as true timetravel. Either way until there's solid evidence either way its like schrödingers cat

@@MrSlick16 on top of my point of branching timelines. Dave Filoni said it himself saying that it isn't real time travel

@@Dylan_Production some people might not consider branching timelines to be real time travel. They may consider the linear style time travel approach to be the only real one. For instance Ezra may not have plucked Ahsoka from his past but another Ezra's past. So kinda multiverse style. It wouldn't be time travel instead it would be taking something from another universe which was the exact same until that point and transplanting it into your own. It would even fit in with the name of the episode "world between worlds." The world's in this case being different universes. It's also important to note that Filoni was inspired by the wood between the worlds where travel to other worlds such as narnia is possible. In this case its like getting the infinity stones in endgame, they didnt travel into their own past, it wasn't true timetravel like HG Wells, back to the future or doctor who established. I'm not saying this is the case but nothing Filoni, Disney or anyone has said has so far discredited the possibility including filonis statement of it not being true timetravel.

@@MrSlick16 anything that could happen in the universe has already happened. The force wanted Ahsoka to live so she lived and then destroyed the gateway. There is no branching timelines or mutiverse. There is just constant single timeline.
