Of ALL the rapes actually reported to the British police (which is a traumatic experience according to many) each year, LESS THAN 3% are successfully charged in court! Those convicted are often given very short sentences if any! It also takes, on average more than 2 1/2 years for a case to be brought to trial. The police can’t deal with even the most serious of crimes!

The UK is very much behind in technology safety measures. Internet scams are businesses in India with call centres that rip people out of thousands of pounds. Germany has spent a lot of money to protect their citizens with measures to not be targeted by these thieves. But with all the issues the country has right now, I don think this would be in the agenda to invest.

It is bad in Elephant and Castle too. People unless you got a ring behind your phone to stop the snatchers. Please don't use your phone while walking around Elephant and Castle in London. The openness makes it easy for cyclists. I wouldn't even rely on a phone ring in case of injury if someone does try and swipe it with force.

This happend to me October last year. Guy on an electric bike took my unlocked phone from my hand. He was sooo quick. Tried to change all my passwords. Still think about it all the time, what he can do with all my personal details and info. Everyone (except one girl) at the bus stop pretended to look the other way.

They use the account number and sort code to send a bank transfer to an account they have opened through a fake id and address so the police can't trace it back to anyone and the banks can't do anything about it once its left your account I don't think.

Another tip would be if you can get an e sim for you phone then do that and also for iPhone users (I don’t know on android) turn off control center on the lock screen so then the thief won’t be able to turn off the 4G/5G which may then help when needing to do the tracking/wipe the device etc Another would be to use a different pin for your banking apps than the unlock screen pin so then they can’t access the banking apps

Make sure the PIN you use for your apps is different from the PIN you use to unlock your phone. If you unlock your phone using biometrics, then there is nothing for them to see. Regarding SSID stripping: When someone logs into your phone’s 4G/5G network and watches you, this is impossible if your personal Wi-Fi connection password is randomised, includes numbers and special characters, and is longer than 14 characters. It needs to be impossible to remember. NEVER use dictionary words, unless they are in a foreign language to you. Avoid common human password psychology, such as replacing letters with numbers or putting a capital letter at the start or end of the password. To put this into perspective a dictionary word password can be broken within minutes A truly long, of fourteen characters or longer, randomised password will take a computer 100s of years to break with our current technology.
