voyager40 I’m pretty sure it was more to do with them trying to take some creative control over his show when it became a hit. When he first started it, CC let him do whatever he wanted since they didn’t really care. Once it became a HUGE hit, they started meddling and “suggesting” a few things here and there he should do on the show. Also things he shouldn’t. When they offered him the $50 million dollar deal it also came with the understanding that CC would be a little more hands on with their new “golden goose”. You really think he went all the way to Africa and disappeared from the scene for two years because of DVD sales? It was deeper than that. He didn’t want to be a puppet to the Hollywood system, so he bounced.
